    Thumbs up Memory Foam!

K and I are fixing up our apartment, and the last remaining area is the bedroom. We've had our mattress and box spring sitting on the floor for months, but he finally bought a bed frame (it hasn't arrived yet). To celebrate, I bought us some really nice new 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets on Overstock.com, and also a quilt set. I also saw a one-inch memory foam mattress topper for $39.99 (retail $199.99, I love Overstock!) and since our bed isn't very soft and we haven't been sleeping well lately, I bought that too.

Well, the sheets and quilt haven't come yet, but the memory foam pad got here yesterday. The second I climbed into bed last night, I melted. K could barely drag himself out of bed to go to work this morning, and I slept late too. It was the best night's sleep I've had in quite awhile and I still want to go roll around on the bed some more. This memory foam RULES. There are thicker pads available, but this simple 1" pad makes a world of difference and I cannot recommend it highly enough. That was the best $40 I've spent in a long damn time.

is dense and supportive, yet soft and pliable. I can't describe the feeling, sort of squishy, but damn it feels good to sleep on! So yeah. This stuff totally gets the Yek Seal of Approval.

So would you guys think it's better to just buy a whole memory foam bed which can cost 1k and up or just buy the mattress pad and a regular like 700 dollar mattress?

I tried them both, the 2k matress and the foam 3'' pad, and I didn't feel a difference. I'd say save a grand I did!

I had those pillows. My dogs had the best time tearing them apart.

My ex-husband had a chow puppy once that ate most of a new pair of shoes he had just paid $180 for. He reminded her that chows were originally bred for food and she was damn close to being Puppy Chow in the literal sense. I've never seen him fume like that. But she wagged her tail and licked his hand with this goofy puppy smile and he just sighed and took her for a walk.

    Damn dogs.

Lol! Not to laugh at the fact that your pillows got ruined, but the image is just too funny She probably looked up at your with an excited look on her mug "Mommy...see what I did!" *Bark*

No I came home to a living room covered in foam, like hundreds of chunks. Like a Build a Bear store exploded in my living room, and my dogs were passed out in the middle of all of it. One even had a chunk in her mouth while sleeping!

My cousin's mini pin tore up a diaper changing pad because he was feeling "IGNORED" (new baby.) I store everything out of dog's reach & shut bedroom doors...the cat pissed on MY memory foam mattress because the OTHER cat sat on it. (PS YES you can get pet pee out of memory foam. Use Orange Clean & vinegar.)

Awww.....I used to have a pit bull that had to be crated whenever I wasnt home or at night while I slept...she was JUST like this. Would eat ANYTHING...and I do mean anything. And many times passed out with something in her mouth. I brought her to work with me MANY times to have her x-rayed because she ate something that I didnt see. But she was always so cluelessly proud of whatever mess she made and would bring you pieces of something she destroyed while covering you in kisses...so I just couldnt stay mad. I got her when a good samaritan dropped her off at the hospital after finding her on the side of the road hit by a car. So she was a bit retarded...but oh so sweet! I just couldnt leave anything around her that was expensive or dangerous because it became a chew toy.

Back on topic(sorry Yek! Cant contain myself when talk turns to animals) I have a cpl of these pillows and love em(though not for sleeping since they are the curved ones so it bugs me..I need my head flat to sleep). I've been thinking of a temporpedic mattress..but they are SOOOO expensive. This topper seems like a bargain! Is the 1 inch really all you need? I see they have up to 4 inch toppers....is there a huge differance?

Well, I haven't tried any of the thicker ones. But I have a REALLY cheap, old shitty mattress and it feels like fucking heaven now with that 1" foam topper on it. The thicker ones are also dirt cheap on Overstock if you wanted to try one!

My ferret tops it all... She ate the shoulder off of my $300 cashmere sweater from Neiman Marcus. I wanted to cry!

My ex had the foam topper. It was nice but my new bf has the whole bed and I can tell a HUGE difference! I loooove sleeping over there (yea, he's okay too).

Do it! It's so worth it. I used to regularly wake up with neck pain, but have literally NEVER had that problem again since I got one of the neck support memory foam pillows. Really a big help. SOMEDAY I'll get a whole mattress, but until then, hmm! Maybe a topper would be great in the meantime . . .

Love Overstock, have been using it for years!I got a 3 inch topper a few months ago,the biggest size,a Cal King.Cut it io fit a full/queen size mattress and used the remaining part to make comfortable cushions for chairs, actually put one of them on the car seat, very comfortable! And it's true that even if you don't have the best mattress or an old one,a nice topper like that can transform it into a very comfortable bed.My back is messed up from years of dancing and this thing helped a lot.Mine was a great deal, too. It was something like 70$,originally around 300-350$.
