    Default animal guardian?

I love animals! They are my best friends. Right now I have 6 adorable cats and would have more if space allowed for it. In the past I grew up with turkeys, pheasant, geese, chickens, sheep, llamas, dogs, cats, fish...

What animals are you the guardian of?

    side note...
it seems like alot of dancers I run into have cats, while the general public seems to mostly have dogs

    anyway I'm just curious

I only have cats and a frog now. It is SO very few compared to what I'm used to. I was always around tons of critters growing up.

Why did I walk into this thread I thought it was about guardian animal spirits.... oh well.

The only animal I have right now is the family dog. With the empress around you don't really need a cat... well yes you do but yeah she'd just chase it away.

Five cats now and a bunch of fancy guppies.

Cat number five just came in wild and was tamed--he is an old, old cat with lots of notches in his ears and scars all over his head and back. He has a big lump on his jaw, and .... SEVEN toes on each front paw and SIX on each back paw. He'll be headed for the vet soon for shots and castration. I'm afraid that the lump on his jaw is gonna cost me a bunch, but he's such a neat cat...

Right now I have a cockatoo, a macaw, and a weiner dog. I always had animals growing up, so to me it only makes sense to have a pet. I love my babies.

Helping to care for 2 dogs and 3 cats

People say I have a "magic touch" with animals, but I've been bitten or scratched by every domesticated animal species in North America...so maybe not.

I used the term pet guardian because you can't really own an animal, you can't 'own' another living being. You watch over them and their well being, you are their guardian...

I call my pets animal companions unless they have shown an affinity to be a familiar. At the moment, due to the transition of another cat and just the fact that I'm not in a position to take on any more animals, one cat.

As long as there is at least ONE animal companion in my life (even it if isn't totally mine since Puddy is my flatmate's cat) then I am okay. I doubt I could function without ANY animals in one variety or another in my life.

I'm dreaming for the day where I can have a nice little "zoo" of animals... rats, hermit crabs, native widlife (rehabilitation), cats, dogs, etc.

    One day.........................

currently three cats and 2 ferrets...probably with another kitten in the not so distant future...and farther on in the future, i'm hoping to have a sanctuary for some of the smaller great cat species that get sold as pets to people who don't know what they're getting themselves into...

Let's see. Currently: 3 cats. All Manx, they're amazing. 65 gallon tank full of fish. Ball Python. Parakeet. Our temporary houseguest has a beagle (who I adore, if you've been paying attention) and a betta. I think...yeah that's it right now.

Currently, 2 ringnecks, 6 lovebirds, lost count of the finches plus they have a batch of eggs, agghh they need to quit having so much damn sex, it's making me jealous. I guess I could also be considered my neighbors puppies part-time guardian as they spend so much time in my yard. lol. I want to bring a ferret home, but worry about it causing problems with the birds.

Past, snakes, turtles, iguanas, dogs, a cat (which mysteriously disappeared. ) bearded dragons and cockatiels.
