    Default Hair Karma-- Help!

I'm a supernewbie at stripping, so I'm just trying to be nice to all the girls at my club and not step on anyone's toes.
This one girl, though, will just not stop. We actually look pretty similar, and maybe she’s afraid that I’m stealing her thunder, but she has been nothing but catty to me from the start.
Yesterday, she told me that my hair was looking really dry and frizzy, and that, to give it more moisture, I should do a “Vaseline mask”-- just smearing Vaseline on it like shampoo and letting it sit for two hours.
So, I’m not retarded. Vaseline’s not water soluble, and there is no way I would be able to wash it out of my hair. It would just leave it a greasy mess.
I’m pretty anti confrontational, but I don’t want to do nothing at all. My plan is to just go in next time with super amazing hair, smile and thank her for the tip, and hope that she decides to try it out herself.
Any tips for getting amazing hair? I just want it to be really glossy-- like I had a nice, moisturizing Vaseline mask.
If it’s important, my hair is long and is actually pretty dry.

Search for "hair masks" or "hair treatments". You will find many different ones.

I say: do exactly what you're planning, and then tell her a whole bottle of castor oil will get rid of that tubby little pouch of fat on her stomach (don't worry, she'll believe it's there.)

    ^^ Ha! Good one!
Even better! Tell her that Visine in her drink will magicially melt off body fat!

Honestly, if yrou hair is that dry, if I were you I would rub lots and lots of olive oil in it, cover it with a plastic cap, cover that with a winter hat( you know, the tight, knit ones)
and go to bed.( also cover yrou pillow with a towel) In the Am, wash it out, deep condition, use a leave in, get a professional blow out and style.

But sleeping in the olive oil is sure to bring back some moisture. I've done it.

A 1/3 honey & 2/3 conditioner mask for a few hours always makes my hair super-shiny!

Do not use this one, as it is dangerous, even deadly. Sorry to threadjack, I just didn't want anyone to get into trouble.

Girl, you need to know that its a classic to tell new strippers to do terrible things to themselves cause the vets feel uncomfortable with newbies sometimes. You will learn a lot of great things by listening to older strippers, but take it all with a grain of salt. You'lll hear great advice and you'll hear terrible advice.

I myself have only been dancing for 9 months but I'm one of the girls at my club that have worked there the longest. I love to encourage and help new girls. Just pay close attention to who you've been talkin to.

Actually I think the vaseline might work by holding the moisture in and forcing your hair to absorb it?

1 egg, 1 tbs vinegar, and 1 tbs apple cider vinegar stirred together is my magic hair fixer.

Joico Moisture line works for me, as does avacado oil (natural vit. E)

I do wonder if vaseline would come out with shampoo as olive oil does? Could it work the same? Or would it just leave a greasy mess... I don't think I'll try it personally though!

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.
And Vaseline wouldn't come out with shampoo. I just googled it to make sure, and pretty much all the things that involve both Vaseline and hair also seem to include the words "HAIR DISASTER."
All of the methods of removing it seem to involve cornmeal and dishwashing fluid. Not really something I want to put my hair through.

A professional blowout and style before your next shift might be a great way to go. Your stylist should be able to put a mask/treatment on your hair before styling it, and of course they're not going to let you leave the salon if your hair looks dry like hay.

Many of these other recipes will do good for your hair in the future as well. Good luck, and way to go for thinking before putting vaseline in your hair!!

If you really want smooth shiny hair, get a color gloss in clear, like Redken Shades EQ. We were just talking about how amazing it is in the henna thread.

(Sort of a thread jack....) For the girls who use olive oil: I love the results of sleeping on olive oil and a cap

How often should it be done? If you do it more than once a week, can that be too much and cause build up?

Mayonnaise is a good hair mask, believe it or not. It's mostly eggs and oil. You could try that mixed with avocado.

As a victim of some horrific haircuts, fucking with someones hair is .... beyond me.

Karma is a bitch, don't stoop to her level, just look fabulous and kill her with kindness. Thats the best revenge!
