Default oh my lord i got a tax refund?

and oh to my surprise, when i opened the manila-colored envelope in the week-old pile of mail and found a nicely multi-colored check for the amount of $139.00 with the words "United States Treasury tax refund" along the top.
my mouth dropped and i said, oh my fucking god whoaaaa! i think i scared Cally/ish cuz she sorta said "what?" but i was all-too-engrossed in my pretty multi colored check. seriously though, i wanna call up the US Treasury and say, "To what do i owe this pleasure?" lol. whodathunkit? i musta overpaid... that reminds me to thank my accountant. and that is all for now.
now back to your regularly scheduled stripperweb...

    Love it!

I hope I get a tax refund this year. I'm always terrified I'll end up with a tax bill because, although my income is very patchy, you don't pay as you go with earnings as a contractor (read: stripper), so there's always a risk of a debt at the end of the financial year if you haven't paid enough tax on other earnings over the course of the year.

Damnit. Now I wish I scanned into an image file my $8000 tax refund cheque from a couple of years ago.

It is because each and every year I have filed a tax refund using who I use as an accountant that I have YET to have to OWE anything... each and every year I get a refund.

I'm really hoping this year will be the same. Really REALLY hoping ! I would so love a refund as it would go straight into savings

you should have scanned that check, just like i should have scanned my check for refund for $1.00, yes, $1.00.

i guess after all the calculations and after the original refund check they found that they owed me a dollar, so they spent more money on printing/paper/labor/postage than the check itself.

No one should be receiving huge tax refunds, like over $1,000. I mean, that's fine if it jostles you emotionally, but all you've been doing is lending your respective country's government an interest-free loan throughout the year.

I got a small refund the year before last, off of all stripper earnings. It was about Chrissy's refund size, that's fine.

I got decent sized refunds when I was a state employee. Given that the State of California LOVES giving out Dutch Treats, I am eternally grateful.

I got a little check the other day from the IRS for about $140. Apparently I guess my CPA calculated something wrong. Who knows. It's not really a refund since I paid them $6600 but it's still nice to at least feel like you're getting something back.

I think that was also the year I had gone to Vegas so my whole trip to/from/in Vegas was a tax deduction....................due to attending the Dancer Wealth Seminar at the time. It was a legitmate business deduction. My accountant has quality control systems in place so that only legitmate verifiable deductions are deducted... thus I received that $8000 cheque from the ATO that year. It was a damn good year.

The way it works for me is.. earn income.. business expenses/deductions.. then I pay tax on what is left over (usually around the $20,000 mark).

I can beat you. I still have my check for four cents. As in, $0.04.
