What do you consider a fair amount to tip the floorman and waitress? My manager/floorman takes 20min just to come over and start the clock on the room sometimes. I have a real hard time tipping a guy who 1) made me look like an incompetent idiot for a half hour 2) wastes time i should be getting paid for, and 3) turns around to ask if i can get the guy to tip him in cash.
WTF!!!
but the guy's not going anywhere, sadly enough... we've had our good moments working together and I try to focus on those since it's not changing anytime soon. but he doesn't keep track of time, doesn't point out any $$ custies, and I feel like i'm throwing money away!!!
I think if I demanded more from the customers he'd help out more. I'm shy and I don't have the kind of confidence I ought to have. Honestly I'm scared to ask for more than the club minimum $ amount for half hours - and I'm one of the prettiest girls in the club (not to be vain). I'm just not that great a dancer. I have a hard time releasing my fears of what might go wrong or how I could get seriously hurt and just putting it out there.
thanks for the tips, they've been a big help
^^ He takes 20 minutes to come over to let you start dancing? I'm surprised your customer didn't get up and say something. That's his time the floorguy is wasting, too! That just looks horrible for the club, and is very unprofessional. I would talk to him once, then stop tipping after that if things don't improve. Or tip him an amount that you feel is fair every night--he might pick up on the fluctuations.

1. Name your price. Usually they will pay it.
2. Pre-paid? Did he pay in advance for dances to get a discount?
3. Meeting out side the club for drinks? Food? A date?

I just ask for a good-bye tip at the end of a vip or before they leave if I have been talking with them.

Hey guys, know this post is old (but amazing!) but thought some of you amazing ladies might be able to help get the most for my club- I just started dancing, sunday was my first night ever and made $125 which for my area, isn't good..but I guess it's not terrible. Tonight though (tuesday) $400! Turned up the confidence, totally worked!! Only thing is, seems like that's the max unless you get VIP which is really tough at this club apparently- we're on stage 30 mins, off 30mins, and have to change outfits every 2 sets- between having 30 mins, thats 5 dances without chatting (dances are $20) and of course you have to talk.. even tonight I got a few that wanted to keep going and I had to get to the freggin stage..I know other clubs have set stage times where you "cant be late for stage or else!" like mine..so how do you girls bank with such little time?

^ pretty hard to do. you might try switching to a club where you don't have to be onstage as much.
-love everyone but keep them far from your soul-

I'm trying! Seems like most clubs have mandatory stage time, which wastes a lot of time from getting dances, such a pain! Any NJ girls have this issue too?

First club I ever worked at was in NJ...I begged to be on stage as much as I could. You'd make a KILLING! So rare though....those were the dayz...

Yep , exactly. Seems like most clubs in the NJ area are like that though, just have to make the best of it I guess!

When I worked in San Fran the clubs would get so busy that they had a guy with a walkie-talkie connected to the DJ booth. When we went into do private dances the guy would let the DJ know to take us off rotation... which worked great! I wish more clubs did this.
At some clubs though they realize that because the house gets a portion of the dance money, taking us off rotation when we are in privates is more beneficial to them... because they don't make nearly as much of our stage money as they do from the private dance money.
It all really depends on the club though and how they are making their money.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I really wish they would get that at the club. When I walked to the stage, I winked at the DJ (who I absolutely love, BTW) and said "Dude, you're cutting into my earnings." He apologized but as we both knew, he was just doing what management told him to do. We talked about it later, and how it cost me at least another lap dance when the customer walked out the door before I could get off stage.

I so wish they had that at my club!! You're exactly right though, this club doesn't take any cut from dances, so won't take us off rotation unless we get a champagne room, wastes a LOT of time on stage where most of the money is made with dances, and have had to miss a bunch of dances for having to run on stage..trying to make the best of it though!

Sunday through Thursday we write our name on the dry erase board next to the DJ booth. He won't call us up on stage until we erase our name. In theory, I can stay on the couch all night and never have to go up. Weekends we are too busy and are not allowed to miss our stage call. Our sets are only two songs though.
The more posts I read on here, the more I believe that we should start a form of REIT (Real Estate Investment Fund) that purchases and operates strip clubs. REITs are like mini corporatins and we could all buy shares into it and pool our money together. Who better to own and operate clubs than us? Most clubs are owned by men. Did anyone ever notcie this? I just decided to move this over and start a new thread.![]()

Heck yeah, I'd love to open a club. I would do things wayyy differently.
The thing about the female owned strip clubs I've worked in was that the owners were wayyy greedier than male owners. Those are the clubs that will fine you 50 bucks every day you call in with a sick child or death in the family, and will also fine you if you request vacation time... even if you ask off a month before. The only thing about male owned strip clubs is if you pout enough, they are usually lenient on you.
I hate having to go on rotation when I have money elsewhere... then other girls steal my custy while I'm on stage, talk about me behind my back, and I make one dollar while I'm up there.
I swear NC is like the worst state for stage tips too! I've never had a custie hand me any bill bigger than a dollar here, but in GA it was like 10's 20's and one time I made over 100 on a two song stage set. (shocked the hell out of me when I came off the pole and there's 100 ones laying on the stage and no customer in site) WTF is with the non-tipping? Apologies for the threadjack...
I love the walkie talkie idea. I think so many clubs keep rotation tight because they need to keep their drink-buying custies entertained. But if they encouraged more champagne room sales they'd make more... from the champagne AND the room.
Last club I worked at... started stage rotation promptly upon opening, whether there were custies there or not. Most of the time, there were not.

We don't sell alcohol. Maybe that's the key difference.

I've worked in alcohol free clubs before... maybe I should give it another shot. The last one I worked in was one of those greedy-fines-you-for-everything clubs but I heard there's some decent juice bars in Greensboro.
Most NC clubs won't let the girls drink anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me if they sell it or not I guess. Too many barflies lol.![]()

^ bump
this thread needed to be revived. LOTS of good tips here.

watch that girl out of the corner of your eye talking to a customer and find out how long it takes to get him to VIP. if she can make that sale in under 5 minutes every single time, something's up. either she's doing extras or promising extras.

there was one girl making heaps of money just resting her hand on their crotch under the table. i guess with that approach it dont matter what closing line you use.
