Ok, so by now I've worked at 3 different clubs.
The first club I worked at, a bouncer actually threw a guy right out of his barstool and onto the ground for me- then chased him right out of the club along with 4 other bouncers into the parking lot, and I can only guess what happened out there.
Well I got bored with the place after awhile and moved on. At the second club, a guy actually grabbed me while tipping me on stage, and tried to shove his face in my boobs! I (finally) pushed him off, grabbed his chin, and gave him a firm, lightning fast slap right across his face! He almost pulled me off the stage fer crying out loud!
He then stood around with his buddies, cursing at me in Spanish, and at one point threw his wad of ones while I was still dancing. I picked it up and threw it right back at him.
The experience was worth it to slap a rude customer (only time I've ever done that), but the problem I had with it, was that the bouncer just sat there the entire time. He'd been sitting on his ass all night, but you think he would at least move it to, at the very least CHECK OUT a physical altercation between customer and dancer.
I had to call this useless lump over to get him to get these guys to leave, as they were still harassing me at the end of the stage and scaring off would-be decent tippers. He asked me if this was my last song, and I said it was but that wasn't the point, I didn't want them giving me trouble while I worked the floor. He told me they wouldn't be bothering me again- then did absolutely nothing! Eventually the guys left on their own, fortunately without giving me any more trouble, but with NO thanks to "security".
I left that club soon after, and went to an upscale gentleman's club, where a guy who was flashing around a wad of 100's (ever notice how it's always these guys who try to stiff you in the end?) kept me in the 30-per-song lapdance area for over an hour. I kept telling him I didn't want to waste his money- that if we were going to spend this much time in private we should go to the VIP, which would have been cheaper after all the time he spent where it cost 30 bucks for every 4 or 5 minutes. But he said "money wasn't a thing" (of course) and kept me back there.
Of course the entire time he was telling me how much he wanted to see me outside of the club, get my phone number, could see himself "falling in love" with me (I stopped him at that point. Come on.) So it was doubly pathetic when, after over an hour, he tried to pay me 150 and acted as though that were more than he owed me. I told him that we were actually upwards of 300, but that I would only charge him 300 dollars overall. Well, he gave me 200 but argued with me about the other 100, saying we'd only been back there for 20 minutes.
This guy pulled a 180 from the charming player he'd been acting a few minutes before. I told him I could check with the bouncer, who had seen us go in and actually commented about half way through how long we'd been back there. He actually said that yeah, I should do that! What an asshole.
This of course is just a shitty customer, they happen. But what was really infuriating, was that when I did go to the bouncer, he said he "didn't know" how long we'd been back there- couldn't even give me an estimate as to how long we were gone to back me up. Spineless fucking prick.
I followed the douche bag customer back to his seat, where his best friend confirmed that he'd timed us and we'd been gone over an hour. I was being called up to the stage- earlier than I was supposed to be called- and they rushed me on, so I told the bouncer this guy still owed me $100, and to watch him. He tells me ok, so I go on.
Only to watch the guy walk out the door.
I go back to the bouncer, asking "Did you just let that guy leave?" He then told me, "No, I didn't let him leave- he left. We can't do anything for you if they don't pay you besides ask them to leave anyway."
MOTHER FUCKER!!!
NO I don't want you to ask them to leave! I want you to KEEP them there until they PAY me!
Isn't that your JOB? What the hell am I tipping you out at the end of the night for if you aren't looking out for me while I'm at work?!
I know I should have gotten the money up front- however, a bouncers job is to assist the dancers when this happens by being intimidating- hence the "mass" required to even BE a bouncer in the first place! Fuck, just because you aren't asked to pay upfront for a dance, does NOT make it FREE!
You pay AFTER a meal- you are still expected to pay 100% of your bill, even though you've already eaten and can theoretically get up and walk away without paying, after having already been served. No one blames the restaurant when dine-and-dash happens - and you can BET that when they are caught, they are not simply "asked to leave".
This is such b.s.- these are the SORRIEST bunch of bouncers I have ever seen. I am ASTOUNDED that these assholes are paid a dime for doing absolutely NOTHING.
Sorry, I just needed to get that off of my chest...
