Due to the large number of anklebiters romping around my house at all times, I still play most of these on a fairly regular basis. "Sorry" is always fun, especially when you add the "house rule" of having to act really over-the-top cheesy apologetic when you hit somebody with the "Sorry" card. You know, squeeze out a tear or two, gently take them by the arm and be all "I'm...I'm...so reallyreally... terribly....SORRY." Dumb, but fun. I don't know wtf the did to "Life" but it's all happy and PC and annoying now. "Connect Four" is good, too. "Clue"! Still love that one. We have the Simpsons version, and it comes with little figurines of the characters. Lisa is Miss Scarlett, Bart is Professor Plum, and best of all, Smithers is Mrs White in the french maid outfit. Has anyone played "Mastermind"? I like that one too. I'm also inclined to agree with RoseWhite on Monopoly. It can be fun, but man THAT GAME NEVER ENDS. I think we're on our 5th or 6th copy of Candyland. Oh, and because of my nocturnal habits, I'm not a morning person. My mother thought it would be funny to get the kids "Don't Wake Daddy!". Man, I'm rambling.

I really liked Pretty Pretty Princess too. I think that and Mall Madness had a part in shaping me into who I am, lol. I can't think of the other really girly games I used to love, but I know there were others.

52 Pickup! Never figured out how to beat that one... My brother was ALWAYS so good.

Oh and, "Lets see who can sit perfectly still and be the quietest for the longest" was always a well lost one...

AND "Chutes and Ladders" Invisible friends are like NATURALS at that game of pentup sexual frustration.

It's an older sibling thing. I, too, hold this secret. And no I'm not telling.

Oooh, and Chrissy, good call on the Apples to Apples! Mast, you'd be amazing at it. There's a family in the West that adores this game - you'll have to join in one day. And MrC, your approach to Sorry is le classic. I will totally adopt that requirement when I have anklebiters of my own.

Ok so I am rethinking the importance of heterosexuality in my life after this.

Awesome! Though I will stick with WW2 and later.

Oh Monopoly rules. I can play Risk for days.

That is a dream double date!!! Just so you know & he doesn't get his hopes up if he wants a challenge, your boy would no doubt kick my sorry ass at chess; I am severely and sadly out of practice. But I'd still totally go for it! And we'd have to throw Taboo in there. I love squaring off against another couple - sometimes you get that vulcan mind meld going with your partner . . . crazy stuff. And then we switch to battle of the sexes and whup the boys good.

Hey, one Scattergories lover to another, answer me something that's always bugged. Years ago, I got "farm animal" when the letter was K. I said "kangaroo". And they didn't accept it!!! That's bogus, right? I got screwed! I mean, I'm sure there are kangaroo farms in Australia! Right? Right??? Besides, what else could I write? "Kow"?

Damnit, I forgot to add Operation and Connect 4 to my list. Thanks for reminding me

Can you tell I love a good board game? I wish more people around me did. I'd love to play regularly again.

add in to that list Hungry Hippo

Sorry RW, to alot of actual farmers they are regarded (and hunted due to it) as a pest. They are not farmed by a long shot! They are actually hunted and killed for being a pest to farmers here.

Stratego, Ants in the pants, Sorry, Trouble, Mouse Trap, and those weird trendy games, like the bridge, with the monster that shakes it and you collect rubies or something and Don't Wake Daddy, stuff like that. Kind of weird since I was an only child.

We'll totally do this sometime! Imagine what a laff riot my partner in crime would be on a board game night!!! And at least one of the games has to be the Strip _____ version.

The one with the bubble timer that pops up is Trouble - "You can cause a lot of trouble with the Pop-A-Matic bubble!" Yeah, I'm a dork...

We play a lot of Sorry, Life, and Uno around here. One of my personal favorites is this game called Hotels, which is basically like Monopoly except you buy big pieces of real estate and have to put entrances on spaces for people to pay rent. Oh, it also has these bitchin' huge cardboard hotels.

    Sorry I missed this before.

ASL is some heavy shit, you gotta be on it to play that well, that's for sure. I've never tried it but I have seen it played a lot at the conventions I used to go to when I was in that line of work (see below).

Modern stuff (after WW II) bothers me, it's too close to people actually dying right now--but that's me, and in the end it's just cardboard or plastic on maps or charts, no one is getting shot or blown up, after all.

It depends on my mood, really, I have games on almost every battle in almost every war in almost every period of history. I used to be the Art Director for a game company after graduating from college, so I got a lot of good deals on the stuff, even from other companies.

But I'd rather play Strip Chess with the right woman, lol--that is a lot more fun, from my experience.
