    Default Pole Tricks

So thinking about auditioning or going to amateur night...never pole danced before...do you just stay away from the pole till you know what the hell you're doing? And how do you learn what the hell your doing? I just don't want to make an ass of myself...

Go in early and practice, hopefully with a helpful pole dancer to coach you. Staying after is sometimes an option but everyone wants to go home then, usually.

Or if your club is slow and they let you play around, do that--and it's smart to do so, if customers walk in and see 5 dancers playing on the poles, having fun instead of sulking at the bar, they tend to stay, lol...

Play with it, don't be intimidated, it's not that big a deal, and the proper attitude will work way faster.

^^ Yep, short of buying a pole, going in early is your best bet. Do try to get someone to spot for you if you're climbing though. Practice makes perfect.

hey. my first time I just walked around the pole and did one or two tricks i had just seen girls do. the rest of the time I posed, and did some floor work.

Try verticledance.com forums. I'm tango on there.

Have fun learning. Pole tricks are fun, but not mandatory.

I agree with Samba, Pole tricks are fun, but not mandatory.

I think pole tricks are awsome and I love to watch veteran dancers do them. But I notice that many dancers place so much emphasis on pole tricks. IMO there are girls that never touch the pole that are just as impressive dancers as those that do pole tricks. It all depends on your persona and how you carry yourself.
