Default How do they make protien powder?

I was just wondering how protien powder is made. Like do they use harsh chemicals to isolate the protien? What are the best protien powders and why? Just wondering. I'm still sick and bored.

Huh...I have no idea. Have you tried to Google it?

It may be a question just like "How do they make hot dogs?"...some questions are best left unanswered....

Whey (made from biproduct of cheese...ew) protein powders are made in a different process from Soy powders. However whey is higher quality - more easily absorbed, i think, higher protein, than soy.

But, among whey protein powders there is so much variation! All I have heard is, you get what you pay for when purchasing. Fitness instructors will insist you splurge on expensive products found at stores like GNC (canadian?) because cheaper ones will make you gassier, & be less absorbant.

theres not just whey and soy protein powder... theres also HEMP!! I've been dying to try it but it's really expensive. There's no chemicals and it's all natural/organic-- you can get it in health food stores.

Whey protein isolate is a touch more expensive, but worth it. Absorbs better and no gassiness.

There's conentrates and isolates. Isolates are generally easier on the tummy.
