    Thumbs down Pinup Girl Clothing

I've been looking at the really cute clothes at . Finally about three weeks ago, I decided to splurge and ordered a bikini and a skirt. I don't usually order clothes online because I prefer to try them on first, but their sizes were listed by measurement so I figured it would be okay.

Well, time went by and time went by. I wanted the bikini for a Memorial Day BBQ. Finally I got an email saying the skirt was sold out, so they could refund it or sell me something else at 20% off. I picked out a dress and asked for that instead. Days later, I got another email saying the dress was sold out too. I said to forget it, just refund the money and send the bikini (they should have already sent the damn bikini, but they held it up). Finally, almost two weeks after I placed my order, they shipped the bikini via the slowest possible method. A few days later, I received it... and it doesn't fucking fit. The measurements are on the website and it still doesn't fit!

The clothes on that website are ridiculously overpriced anyway, and now I've waited three weeks for a damn bikini that doesn't fit. The store won't take returns from the website, and the "customer service" (what a joke) number for the website just leads to voicemail, and of course no one will return my calls. They didn't include any kind of return shipping information, so I guess I have to ship it back at my own expense and lose money on a three-week swimsuit that didn't fit.

Cute clothes, but overpriced and not worth it, and damned if they give a shit about their customers. Save your money.

That's why I don't order much clothing online. I have ordered a few things from ebay and had decent results but it isn't expensive either so you don't feel like you've lost anything.

Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off. I posted a negative comment to their MySpace page; they require approval before posting so it won't make it to the page, but hopefully someone there will see it. I also copied the original post in this thread and posted it to my blog on MySpace too, so hopefully that will get their attention and this will be resolved. Not holding my breath though, they obviously don't give a shit once they've got my hard-earned money.

If they insist on hanging on to that money, I'm at least going to try to cost them that much in negative word-of-mouth. It's my duty as a dissatisfied customer, LOL!

I too had a very similar experiance with them. Ordered one thing...then only after I bugged them about my order did they tell me it was sold out. I tried two other items they had on their website but was told they were sold out too. They have some nice stuff, but poor customer service Sorry you had a bad experiance too!

Did you order it with your credit card? Reverse the charges.

I'd keep calling them and emailing. At a last resort, I'd send them the dress back, with a deliverary confirmation so that you know and they know that you know that they received the item.

Hmmm..... I've thought about ordering from them before so this is good to know. I'm wary of online shopping.

I had the same type of experience with DaddyO. They tried to say they never got the email confirming my order when I ordered a dress--even though I had an order number. Then, they said the dress was out of stock. Six months later, the dress was in stock-- did I still want it? Uh, no thanks.

Maybe as a last resort you can try to sell it here or on Ebay. At least you'd make some of the money back.

Well, the negative comment I posted to their MySpace page got their attention. They told me to just return the bikini with the order page it came with. I suppose I'm expected to do this at my own expense, and Lord knows how long it will take for them to refund the money.

I'm just really pissed off because I ordered it two weeks before Memorial Day so I would have it for a BBQ, and I spent the BBQ in my damn jeans because it still wasn't here yet. Now I'm losing money on shipping, I still don't have a decent swimsuit, and I've had this endless hassle. I should've just gone to Target. I really wish I hadn't tried to order from them.

I ordered a stripper outfit from them several months ago and it arrived damaged, so I guess I should've learned my lesson then. Oh well. Anyway, yeah, don't make my mistake! Save your money!

I almost bought from them until I realized most of their 'pin up' lingerie was leg avenue crap for 30% more. I figured the clothes had to be the same.

This is an example of shit snarky customer service in my opinion...

When no one was responding to me, I posted this comment to their MySpace page:

Terrible customer service, shipment took three weeks to get here and didn't fit (even though the measurements are supposedly listed on the website), and now no one will answer my calls about returns. Clothes are cute but overpriced and not worth the bad customer service and long delays. Save your money!
That got their attention and I received this message in response:

You have my most sincere apologies for any problems you have faced. We had three employees leave at once two weeks ago, off to dream jobs and better opportunities.

The RMA process is easy and you don't need our approval. Simply return it in a box with the order and a note on it stating that it didn't fit you and we'll happily refund your purchase.
My response (and yes I know I got a little ugly here but I'm pretty pissed off)...

So I do have to ship it at my own expense? I really wish I had never ordered from you guys at all. Lesson learned, I suppose, but this has been an experience I really couldn't afford. I figured I could splurge at least once on a decent swimsuit, but now I've lost money and I still had to go to the BBQ with no swimsuit. I should've just gone to Target.

Thank you for finally getting back to me, anyway. How long will the refund take, another three weeks?
    Her response:

Yes, the returns are on your dime but there's no restocking fee, as is often common with internet sales. You're very local so even the slowest, cheapest service should get here fairly quickly. It shouldn't cost you more than $5.

Policy for the return process is clearly spelled out on the order form that was enclosed in the package. I'm sorry that we were unable to satisfy you. We will process the return and refund it as soon as your order comes back to us.

Please remember that your package must be back to us within fourteen days of your having received it. If it is returned to us later, you will only be eligible for store credit.
So I should be GRATEFUL they're not charging me even more for a swimsuit that took three weeks to get here and then didn't fit the measurements it was supposed to? WTF? Remembering that they are soon to close their physical location in Pasadena, I sent this response...

Lesson learned. I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. I guess the customer service explains the store closing.

Thank you for at least finally responding.
And she had the nerve to send this...

Actually, we've outgrown the Pasadena space, it's only 600 square feet. Look for our re-opening in Old Town Pasadena, scheduled for early 2008.
(In other words, "Fuck you.") One last word from me...

No thanks, I'm done doing business with you guys. Good luck to you.
What the hell ever happened to the customer being right?

I had an extremely similar experience with an ebay store called ' amistyle". It took them over 100 days to refund my money as the items were not as described. I returned the items and they offered a refund, and every weekend I would get an email telling me I would have the refund by close of business Monday and every Monday I got an email asking me to return the items, which I did waaay long ago. I finally threatened to go to small claims court (over like 30 bucks) and then they refunded me, the next day.Anyways thanks for the info as i was considering using this site, not now.

Yeah, I love their stuff, but I always order it about 6 weeks earlier than i need it, because it takes them forever.

One thing I do. Most of their stuff you can find elsewhere, and often for 20 dollars cheaper. I copy and paste the product description and google it, and find it on other, more reliable sites, for much less.

Makes me not want to order from them. Thanks for sharing on your review as well as others in this thread that have ordered or tried to order from them. Most of their stuff isn't sized for my hips anyways so why bother kinda thing. Too bad too b/c they have cute stuff.

I've had bad experiences with them too! Out of stock on everything but XS and XXXL, slow, unresponsive to questions, the whole 9. I have a dress right now that I want to return for credit, but I just don't even want anything else of theirs at all. Plus, in my experience, a lot of their stuff LOOKS good in pics but fits terribly in real life. (And LM is right, so much of their clubwear is just marked-up Legs Avenue crapola.)

StopStaring and DaddyO's, on the other hand, while not perfect in speedy service and stocking either, actually has real quality merchandise. Got my favorite red slinky siren number from them; actually, all the dresses I've gotten have fitten me like a Jessica Rabbit dream.

I ordered a couple of dresses from them and I wasn't happy with the fabric. It seemed really cheap. I didn't have any problems with service, but I wouldn't order from them again because I felt that the items were not as pictured.

Yek, please remember to get a delivary confirmation. With as shady as they have been to you I can only imagine they claimed to have received to not received your order unless you can prove it. Yes, it's a few cents extra, but it covers your butt.

Holy fuck I hate this store. And it sucks because when they first started up they were specifically only dancer gear, and had swatches of all the different fabrics etc. I thought it was genius and you could get your bottoms for free, either boyshorts, big ole thongs or gstrings etc.

Anyways I had NO issues with them 5 years ago + Anyways years ago I tried again for a valentines date. I ordered one red dress. Ladies, 8 weeks wentby with NO reply to my email of wtf.

I demanded a refund when they kept saying they were still SHIPPING etc. I said Fuck this shit.

Anyways They never gave me a fucking refund, never got my shit and only gave me some worthless fucking credit for their store

they are the shittiest fucking online store next to the one that used to be on here, surprise him or whatever.
