Default Today I witnessed something beautiful

The birth of a child. It was the most beautiful, magical, empowering, spectacualr, most emotional thing I have ever seen, besides my own children, being a coach and a helper has been one of the best gifts a friend has ever given me. IT was really something, I am so proud of her and her little baby girl. She is 4 lbs 12 oz and 17 inches long, small but is nursing like a champ, I was also there to help her with nursing the baby and as the photographer, I haven't slept ins well a long time!

I recomend it! Seeing a life come to the world is such a beautiful thing I just wanted to share

Been to more than one. Always been a stunning thing for me. Very sentimental, really. Leaves the mind and emotions reeling.

I remember the first birth I saw in person. I thought I was stoic, but I looked down and realized that I was shaking. It was pretty amazing.

Does it have to be a human birth? I remember helping my cat give birth when I was younger and it was so great. The first mewls... everything. I admit, though, when I firest saw a human birth, my reaction was 'they're purple?!'

I've never been much for babies, it seems like mostly they just cry and puke and pee themselves.

But all that changed a while back when I got involved with some people dying--it gives you a real respect for the miracle of new life.

That's cool you got to witness it...

I've never seen a birth in person, but whenever I watch a video I get tears in my eyes. Every single time. Watching those water births on youtube gets me bawling like crazy.

I think animal births are beautiful too. Have you ever seen the way a mare licks its foal when they are born? They are so gentle and loving its beautiful. Another one that is slightly funny is the birth of a giraffe - they drop down a couple of metres from the mother lol.

I watched my friend and cousin have their babies. With my friend, her boyfriend and I each held her feet up when the doctor was telling her to push. The doc kept telling her, "push like your pooping!" lol. And um, yeah, she did shit a little. Kinda gross. I guess taht's common. But it was nice to see the baby come out and watching her finally be able to meet her son.

Oh any birht is just beautiful! I just I dunno I was there from the moment it started 1 cm and I mean helping a person or animal cope with the pains and just being there and seeing them cry and laugh and after such a long wait to see their child is just so amazing.

Beautiful!! Absolutely! Brings tears to my eyes and reminds me of how tiny and wonderful both of my kids were when I birthed them.

Your friend is really, really lucky to have such a wonderful friend in you.

I know it gave me such a rush and it was just so magical! I am now upset cause I hate when the hosp doesn't respect the moms wishes and she is 100% nursing the baby and yet the nurse gave her a bottle, WTF? I am so pissed! I don't get it, it's not up to them it's up to the mom, look if you want to nurse & suppliment go , not nurse I don't really care as long as the mom knows what she wants I say respect it but go above the moms head and do it your way pisses me off!

Why am I disturbed at the thought of a 7 pound watermelon being pushed out of a womans twat?

Maybe im too young to appreciate it...

Either way im glad you were able to enjoy the experience!

LoL i'll take your word for it

I hope I didnt sound bitchy cuz my post wasnt meant in a bitchy way... its just one of those things in life thats always slightly disturbed me...

I've foaled over 20 different horses and i've helped birth cows and pigs and cats and dogs.. and I always thought that was amazing... speshly horses when they bounce right up on their feet to nurse within minutes... but something about a humane being born makes my skin crawl lol.
