    Default Question about yoga

Is there anyone here who does just yoga for their workouts, and if so what results do you get?
An aquaintance of mine has an amazing body, thin, toned, and she claims to only do yoga. But I am sceptical.
I need to lose weight before I go back to work, so I'll try anything.
Does anyone know anything about this?

I've never worked out a day in my life...and just recently started to, I did Yoga..(Thanx to my EX) and it made me feel great and more relaxed and honestly kept me fit. Granted I did play sports also so I am sure that helped...I am not one to diet or anything like that but I have been off the whole Junk food (Mcdonalds and stuff) and only have that once in a while.
As for the question Yoga does help providing you stick to it and will keep going, I found when I stuck with a certain routine my body just got to used to it...makes sure to change it up and try new poses.
    Good Luck.

I knew this girl who said she only did Bikram yoga, when I asked her how she got so muscular. She had an incredibly toned, tight body.

Big fan of Bikram here. You'll find a bunch of threads on the topic. I've been going for a year--nowadays 2x a week--and it's done more to reshape my form than all the other excercises I've done. Regarding food: You just don't want to pollute yourself after a strenuous Bikram class. In that sense, it helps with dieting, too.

Yoga will get your body in GREAT shape! Add in a balanced diet with some additional weight training, and something like running/biking, and you will be lean and toned much sooner!

Plus, yoga is great for the spirit and soul, it will melt stress away! Hmmmmm, I need to start going again!

Yep! Yoga and Pilates will get you the same results.

People don't think Yoga is that hard...but go to an Ashtanga or Bikram yoga class and they'll probably pass out from the exertion if they don't pace themselves. LOL

Yoga is a GREAT way to lose weight, tighten and tone the muscles.
