The problem with curling extensions is that the hair used is really healthy...and really healthy hair can be resilient to holding styles. Damaged hair holds much better. I know some people who buy extensions, then perm them in order to damage the hair so that it will hold style. Now, I dont recommend dong that to hair from Sally's (I have extensions from there too...I think they're great haha).
I have found that the best way to style them is to wet set them. I buy setting lotion (you can get it at Sally's), comb it through the extensions, then wrap them in velcro or sponge rollers, and let them air dry overnight. The next day, they'll be nice and curly, and will hold it forever.
I saw some of those clip in extensions this evening at Sally's. They were human hair and on sale for 100 dollars per package.
I use to have extensions that were bonded to my own hair and we tried straight hair first and it was hard to keep curl in them. We then tried hair that was wavy which worked a lot better.
I would try curling smaller pieces of hair at time as opposed to wrapping a larger piece of hair around a large curling iron. After you roll the hair in the iron, let it set for a minute and spray with hairspray while it's on the iron. Wait until the hair drys then remove the iron. That should help it stay in better.

Hmmmmmm... I've never had a problem with 100% human hair extensions. I just spray easch section with a setting spray like Redken Hot Sets and curl away. Are you they're 100% human hair? Synthetic or human/synthetic blends will not curl.
