    Default Good deal?

    I found a new personal trainer and he offers package deals.

    So does this sound like it's worth it?

    20 X 45 min sessions for $1000.

    I want to do 2 sessions per week so that will work out 10 weeks of training.

    He said that will work out at $45 per 45 min session plus 2 sessions for free.

    I can give him $500 up front and then $500 in a fortnight.

    My best friend owns a gym, I called and asked him his rates for PT. For 20 sessions it would be $42 per session. His sessions are 1 hr each

    I can't stress this enough: train once with them first, before laying down all that money. Nothing worse than finding out you hate them after paying $1000.

    Jai, if it is not to late, take a session with him (even if it is a little more expensive) and see what his training style is like! After your last problem with the personal trainer being unprofessional, it would be irritating to find that you spent $1k on a personal trainer you just don't click with!

    Sounds about right...definitely do a session with him before laying out all of that cash.

    Get references from him (for others in the club who have trained with him) and talk to them about their experience with him. There was a trainer that I used to work with that trained a lot of people, but had a bad rap because he was constantly late (and wouldn't train over the time slot because it would throw his whole day off...saying he would be early next time and make the time up, which he never did) and that pissed people off. Time is money, so make sure he is prompt and reliable. If not, tell him to take a hike...time is money and there is no use spending money on someone who has no respect for that.

    Who do you go with? If it's Fitness First, I pay $65 for every three sessions. o.O;

    Also... 20x45 = $900... so where does he get that math?

    Yeh I go to fitness first. I thought u could only buy the 3 sessions for $65 as an introductory offer?

    I had my first session with him this afternoon. It was great. So I signed up for the deal. I am already really happy with him and his style of training. He came up with some really great exercises. He is very professional too. He kept taking my heart rate and writing it down, the number of reps and the types of exercises that we were doing. He is also really fussy with technique which is good too.

    YEY I think he is gonna be even better than the first trainer (not the dodgy one, the very first trainer I had).

    But that still doesn't explain why he overbooked you $100 and then told you it was a deal... did you not see my maths?

    And no, that is not an introductory offer. Fitness First trainers are independent contractors (like us) and set their own prices. $65 for 3 is standard, though.
