The thread of this message was Less than desirable customers. This is an accurate description of the man. Sorry it offended so many of you. If I fudged on any part of the description it would not have given you an accurate view and the input I was searching for would have been skewed.

I like and respect him very much...that is to say I respect the man when he has periods of sobriety. When he drinks he is a mess and does not use very good judgement. None of this description is meant to be a put down of the man. He cannot help his looks and poor personal grooming go hand in hand with alcoholism.

I wanted to know if the strippers would actually be/pretend to be friends within the club setting and do looks and grooming influence how much time is spent with them. I believe he is being played for a fool and in the process is playing the love of his life as a fool too. That is simply my belief. It appears that if a man has enough money to drop for dances then the ladies will swallow their distaste and give him quality dances. And if the dancers are disgusted by his looks /grooming / breath would that not be even more degrading if he found that out?

I wonder if the responses would have been any different if I had been his wife or girlfriend? I never meant to give the impression that I was a male. I am a female friend and no, I'm certainly not jealous. We have been friends and confidantes for many years. I like and respect his girlfriend.

Whether you realize it or not, my questions have been answered. True friends would not be encouraging alcoholics to spend their time in bars so they could tap into his wallet. Therefore the friendship that he believes he has with the girls is a fantasy. It's just business to you but to many of your customers this "hobby" might well cost them their lives. Not your fault of course, it's "just business" right?

There are only 2 clubs within 60 miles of our city. I do not nor will I ever work in them. However, I do know some dancers and customers (my brother included) who have filled me in on what goes on there. My friend has been to both clubs but prefers the one that he can walk to. They are both equally bad but I am strictly speaking about the one in particular.

The drug busts there are a matter of public record as the stories are published in our local newspaper. Another reason for me to want to have nothing to do with them.
sounds like hearsay and media hype to me. unless you've been in the club and gotten dances from the girls he's hanging out with, you have no idea what goes on when he's there. even if he's telling you what goes on when he's there, it's not necessarily true. and while it may be proven that there are number of girls performing extra services at these clubs, you are quite foolish to believe that means Every girl is performing extra services at these clubs.

honestly, if you come to a forum like this seeking honest answers with the intent of helping a friend, you would do better to show more respect for the women in this industry.

Well thats not judgemental too much is it? No, of course looks dont really matter to us. If he is respectful and asking for dances..we will give him dances. THATS OUR JOB. Yes, he may have come across some manipulative women...but chances are it is his own skewed view of reality that makes him think they are his friends. I've had tons of guys swear I was their girlfriend.even though I made it crystal clear I was NOT and did not give them my real name, phone number or see them OTC.
Then again they might be friends. Club friends. THere have been many customers over the years that I considered club friends..kind of like work friends. I'm glad to see them there, we have fun together THERE...but we dont spend time together outside work.
We are not there to play dimestore psychiatrist. Many guys come to strip clubs because of issues in their lives. Whether that be addiction, lonliness, etc....being in the club makes them happy. If we had to take the time to psychoanalyze every guy before deciding to do a dance we'd go out of business. Not to mention how insulting to the guy if we were wrong.

I'd be more concerned about the girlfriend knowing he is an alcoholic, knowing he is spending all his money while she supports them, knowing he is drinking....she is an enabler and thats worse for him then any business simply doing their job.

If you would like to blame all his problems on strippers...be my guest. THats very convenient and strippers make fabulous scapegoats for all the evils in the world. His issues lie much deeper and he is the only one who can do anything about them.

Love it when guys post saying "I know you asked for dancers' opinions, BUT..."
    Whatever.

Dood. It's all about the money. Most definitely. It's nice if we get to deal with a hot guy in addition to getting paid, but ultimately, we're just trying to make money LIKE ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

    *Reads the thread title*

I've always endeavoured to be the very best customer I can be, whatever it takes.

I make a note of keeping clean, smelling nice, and being polite, honest and respectful to dancers, and I do my tipping a slightly different way: with the drinks. For instance: with a $6-7 dollar beverage, I tend to give $10, and for a $9-10 one, $15.
