    Default New manager= bad night

We have a new manager. He wears all white suits with patent leather white shoes and he's supposed to be really experienced managing clubs, tells us at the meeting how he's going to make us tons of money because it's all about the entertainers, that we're going to double our income in 90 days,, blah blah blah.

We had amateur night wednesday and I guess he hired a bunch of new girls because the sign outside the club says "60 beautiful girls" instead of the 40 or so (i think) we used to have. There were atleast 30 girls, probably more, working tonight. The club wasn't THAT packed, maybe 3/4 of the way full, the VIP section was mainly empty except 3 tables (when i left at midnight anyway). So there was a pretty high girl to customer ratio. We have two narrow runway like stages with no pole, and for each set they were putting three girls up on each stage, for a total of 6 or 7 girls dancing each set because it was so full.. and it kind of sucks when you're stuck in between two girls on a pole-less stage and can't even walk up and down it to work the stage or do anything but stand there and dance in place.

The customers weren't tipping very well, i made 3 dollars my first set and 7 dollars my second, but it was probably because I was just in a bad mindset to work and wasn't putting any energy into it.

The manager likes to go on the microphone and embarass us when we're on stage too saying obnoxious things like "No one is tipping those girls on stage! Someone better go up there right now and put some money in those garters" blah blah blah.. he thinks it helps, but I notice no difference in the amount of tips i get when he's on the mic hustling the customers and when he's not. I get tipped the most when the dj is playing awesome crazy rock music and I get really into the song with no obnoxious microphone voice overs from the DJ or manager about tipping me.

The dressing room was pretty full of drama too, because I guess a girl that got fired for pulling another dancers hair was back and the victim dancer got really upset about it. The girl shouldn't of been back but she was. The only reason the manager says they're lowering house fees is because he wants to make the girl count so high that it makes up for the lower fee. He's doing what's best to make the club and himself money obviously, but not us.

So yeah.. I went home at midnight because i had only made 29 dollars and kept crying while i was dancing because i'm really upset about a stupid ex-bf problem and moving and school and .. just generally stressed out..

but tomorrow... I will make a grand. off one guy. and we will be in VIP all night drinking champagne. well i'll be drinking water, but w/e. and he will be young and rich and cute and want nothing but conversation and flattery.

Aww, Avery sugarplum, I'm so sorry (for you and for myself, when I get my ass back into town).

30 girls sounds like a clusterfuck.

White patent leather shoes sounds like a poor choice.

Microphone hustling sounds like an aggravation.

29 dollars is something worth crying over, but don't let it take over your I'm-Beautiful-And-Excellent mindset. And try not to let your life stress you out too much... I know it's easier said than done, but the mental picture of you crying while dancing just shatters my heart. Deep breath. You are a powerful moneymaker, and it is clear to me that stripping comes naturally to you (which I say with some envy, because it's not so for me!!), so you WILL be able to figure out tactics to make money with the new GM. *Hugs*

My biggest pet peeve is too many damn girls. I was top earner tonight, meaning I was also there the latest doing dances, so I tried to take it up with the general manager. He basically told me that they want more damn house fees. Makes me wanna scream!

I think the club can easily support 30-45 girls, but we need to get the custy base up first. Right now we don't have the clientelle to support 32 girls.

I see him doing a lot of good things, but I think it might be too much too fast. on the otherhand, girls want the changes to happen asap!

    so we'll see.....

right now, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to consider a new club for awhile. I'm not ready to leave cheetah, but I'm only making money on the weekends right now. So I might look for a weekday job.

I've never seen what he's doing work to anyone's advantage but the club and the manager. It doesn't bring in enough new customers to support the girls, so the girls still make less, but the club makes more. This guy is clearly full of shit. "All about the entertainers, gonna double your money in 90 days" - my ass. It's more like: all about getting my customer counts and bar sales up so I get my fat bonus, fuck the girls.

If they were REALLY interested in making EVERYONE more money, they'd spend some money on advertising and promotion to draw the crowds. Simply hiring more girls and putting up a sign isn't going to cut it.

I'd ask the guy next time he spouts some shit about being all about the entertainers, how much he's increasing the advertising budget, and what that budget will be spent on. When he starts stuttering and spouting off anything other than a direct answer to the question, you know you're screwed and it's time to find a new club.

He said tonight at our meeting he was going to get some advertising going, so I have a little more hope now. It was a good night tonight! I guess he's not too bad after all.. Friday was just a little discouraging with the overwhelming amount of dancers.

I know of one specific club which is shooting itself in the foot by scaring off (and thus creating a bad rep for itself) the good quality strippers because they (the club) feels that flooding the club with girls ... basically having more girls on per night than its only competition (one other club) will encourage the people to frequent that club over its only competition.

When they first opened, they did seem to give a f--k about the dancers. Now, they are just like every other strip club... who gives a f--k about the dancers as long as we are still making money.

I'm not going back until i hear that their attitude has changed. Unfortunately, that may not be in my "stripper lifetime". This isn't the first time this has happened to me .. there is another club I refuse to go back to due to how they treated their good quality regular girls (even if I wasn't a home-town girl - i worked there regular enough).

I swear, what's this manager's name? He sounds like the spitting image (white shoes and suit) of one I saw take a lovely club and KILL it.

    nope....

I am scheduled to do a photoshoot in 2 weeks, and it'll be a full page add in the local adult mags, as well as newspaper adverts. He's also buying commercial time, so I think it will help.
