    Default What would you change?

Lets say for a week, you get to be the manager of your club. What would you do or change to make it better and attract the men to spend?

    I'm just having a random thought....just curious.

I don't know if some of my suggestions would be as much for management, as also for legislation....

Obviously I'd refuse to overschedule girls just to get the house fees, while they make shit from the handful of custy's in place....

Also, instead of having dancing minors who cannot consume alcohol be confined to special areas, I would have a wristband or stamp, that the bartenders would check for before serving alcohol(and VERY strictly enforce that)

I guess that about covers tonights pet peeves.... its a good question though!

Get rid of the percentage!! Initiate door fees based on the time when someone starts therefore rewarding dancers that start early (when the club opens). Have showgirls and PAY them to be showgirls.

Have the club open 8.30pm instead of 7.30pm. That first hour is a waste each and every damn night (I'm not just speaking about winter either).

Allow the dancers to offer the INTRO dance within the club - $20 no touching one song dance. Allow dancers to do $20 per song no touching dances or $30 per song touching dances.

Have club currency! Have the waitresses carry this around as well as give money back in club currency (after ordering a drink, for instance). Club currency can only be used as tipping currency - not to purchase lap dances and/or drinks.

Charge $10 at the door, $5 in club currency and $5 entry fee.

Have a DJ that is a MC as well thus introduce each girl on stage. Have the DJ play songs at set length - 3 minutes.

Offer customers free drinks if they purchase VIP dances - half hour or longer.

Do not time the lap dances to the minute!!! If the dancer wants to give away her time for free at the end of the dance, that is her problem.

Have the hostesses stick to hustling on the floor only and stay out of the lap dance area (unless requested by the dancer herself). Offer incentives for the hostesses to talk to each and every person in the place (nightly bonus for instance if they manage to sell X number of dances).

Train the hostesses to be sales people. Don't have the door girls be a hostess. They're door girls! They are paid to just stand out front and be pretty as such.

I know some of these changes affect the dancers more than the patrons and customers however believe me... if these changes came into effect... I seriously think it would be a better environment at my club.

Oh yeah, cap the number of dancers working each night or at least be more leanient (sp?) with the 'non rostered' girls who have decided to turn up and pay to work that night to allow them to go home early.

Have the dancers only roster on for two nights per week.

Can you tell there is ALOT I'm not happy about with my current club?

First: Make sure a decent cover is charged, and all the time, too. No freeloaders during the day. Make it higher at night or on weekends, great. But they should pay something. HOWEVER - I love the idea that they get some funny money at the door.

Such a great idea. Encourages spending, guarantees that SOME of their money makes its way to us, even if it's just stage tips, it keeps the money factor flowing. $20 (or whatever) cover guarantees that it's people with MONEY who come in in the first place, $10 back in kitty kash makes sure that some goes to us.

Second: Hire actual bouncers to actually do their actual #@*! jobs. ENFORCE that ONLY one-way contact is allowed in the lap area and on stage. That way Champagne actually MEANS something without meaning anything "extra" at all. Incentive to spend AND respectful/protective of dancers. What a concept.

Remodel the club to have a champagne room and a VIP room, as well as the room we do our $20 dances in. Change the decor to reflect that we are living in the year 2007 rather than in 1982. Up the prices across the board to encourage a better clientele.

I'd hire two beefy bouncers, one to stand at the front of the club and one to stand at the back. We would have hand signals in which to tell the bouncers who to eject and how much force they should use. And the bouncers would take glee in throwing out guys who crossed the line, after punching them a few times. Aggression, who, me? lol.

I'd get rid of a few girls and go around and try to recruit the hot girls from other clubs. That's probably not accepted, but I'd do it anyway. I would lure them with money.

I would make sure the dressing room had healthy snacks and even dinner on weekends (like a huge sub from Subway). IMO, this would be a nice gesture and would boost morale.

I would keep the scheduling just as it is right now. We seem to always have the right amount of girls. But, if for some reason we had too many, I would let the best girls (who are there on time, do their job, and don't get wasted) have the option of leaving early.

I'm sure I have more. I'll be back.

    Yes. yes yes yes.

That's got to be my #1 pet peeve. The bouncers at my old club were actually really good about this...and like you said, then VIP/CR actually meant something. Most dancers at my current club don't realize that if you give it all away for $25, you'll never get anything more. So if they're going to sell themselves short and allow all kinds of bullshit for a $25 LD, I wish we at least had bouncers that would police that shit and not let them get away with it.

That makes it harder for everyone else to avoid selling themselves short too. Have fun trying to tell your custy that if he wants to touch you he has to buy CR...when the dancer next to you is letting her custy grope her tits and finger her right in plain view of your custy.

My #2 pet peeve and thing I'd change is having promo dances every fucking HOUR. It seriously messes with my flow on the floor, and is a pain in the ass. 2 or 3 per night? Still a pain in the ass, but OK. Every hour?? Fucking excessive and ridiculous.

Hell, while I'm at the wishful thinking, I'd get rid of the 3 shifts per week schedule requirement. Who gives a fuck if they're short on girls every so often? Less girls just means more $ for me. There's just something wrong about schedules for strippers. Overall I like my new club better than where I left (well obviously, otherwise I'd be going back to my old club)...but I really miss my old club's lax scheduling rules. They said you had to work one shift per week, and it had to be either a day shift OR a Sunday or Monday night. So, one shift minimum and that was it. And they were rarely short on girls, so you can't convince me that strict schedules are actually necessary.

Every time a batch of new girls got hired in I would make them come to a special meeting that lasted about a half hour. In this meeting they would be told the rules, what is expected of them, and they would be briefed on dancer etiquette in case they are brand new. IMO, this would alleviate a lot of problems that old girls have with new girls. It isn't always the new girl's fault if she does something wrong. If no one has ever explained things to her then how would she know?

Oh, here's another, I would make a rule that no women could come in unescorted. That means no big parties of just women. They would have to be with men to enter. And I would take out the male dancers we have on Saturdays. IMO, this encourages a non-spending crowd and takes up space that could be used for valuable male customers. And a lot male customers don't want to see that shit.

I'm in two minds about what I bolded above. One the one hand, I couldn't agree more as I can see your point. On the other, it would impact me directly as I tend to go out to strip clubs (as a customer) by myself more than with someone and I always spend within a strip club (even if it is only on stage because I know in every club I have worked within stage is the only way a dancer can keep her earnings 100% if tipped in cash).

Then again, this did happen to me when I went to go inside Spearmint Rhino for the first time ever in my life in Melbourne many many years ago. They wouldn't let me in unless I came in with a male so I found me a random male to go in with... wasn't that hard. lol.

Same with when I wanted to go into Crazy Horse Too in Las Vegas.

I already mentioned the cover charge which includes club currency - I'm a HUGE supporter of it. Why don't more clubs instigate it? Really? Do they realise how much cash they are actually loosing out on due to not having it?

    1. dayshift cover charge of $5, regular customers who spend money would be issued a vip card which would allow them to get in for free. - i hate hate hate the guys i see everyday who never spend money

    2. break up dayshift into 2 seperate shifts 12-5 and 2-7 offer girls free house if they work the early shift

    3. give drink change in dollar coins - which the ladies could cash in at the end of the night. its still money but what guy is going to want to carry around a pocket full of change.

    4. FIRE THE SKANKY HO HOs and be consistent about it.

    5. JUST SAY NO - not hire every dancer that walks through the door

    6. stay on the floor for at least half the shift, mingle with customers, buy the ones spending money a drink. keep an eye out for potential problems

    7. flag the dancers - if they can't walk on stage and are puking in the back, lets not give them even more to drink

    8. encourage girls to work at multiple clubs

    9. have a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and water cooler in the dressing room

I would have a meeting with all the girls, explaining to them how they are selling themselves short by firstly only trying to sell 2-4-1's. I would also explain to the DJ's that dance specials (ie. 241's) will only be done 3-4x nightly at their discretion.

Weight management: Me being a thicker girl myself I do have a problem with fat girls working. There is a thin line between thick and fat. If your tummy is hanging over your undies, baby you need to check that I want all girls to take a more professional approach to makeup.

Hustle Factor: Unless you are being tipped for conversation, NO ENTERTAINER should be sitting with a customer longer than 15min. ABC - Always Be Closing.

an extention on that point you made - offer an incentive for girls to be exclusive such as a base pay (or bonuses) for the girls who are exclusive or something.
