The bad credit is going to hurt the most. You might want to think about buying a cheap car just to get around until you fix your credit. My guess is the dealer or bank is going to charge you a high interest rate. Like 15%-20$+.

    Year: 1999

Description: 1999 TOYOTA CAMRY Transmission M.T., 6 cyl

Well.. for a transmission it's not TOO expensive...

.. of course this doesn't count labour fees... which I assume is where a heft chunk of the money you'll be spending will go, since, I believe, an entire car has to be dismantled for one transmission.

thanks lilithmorgan. the cars blue book value is only 2400 dollars so i do not want to spend more that its worth. i figured anything under a grand i'll pay to get fixed and anything over ill say screw it -- i'm also going to need some undercare carriage work in the next few months that costs around 800 dollars which is why i'm figuring a new car but be better

i hate to have to go through drivetime but that may be my only option, i did look at golden oldies auto and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them -

I know Toyotas are really cheap but the truth is they are really effing reliable and can be worth the money you put in. a 99 camry is a really good car. You might actually want to put the money there instead of getting a newer but less reliable car.

..just don't crash yours like I did.

    Lexi is my stage name!

I think that if your credit is bad and have no claimable income (which you should def. think about filing for 2006 anyway) DO NOT do what I did and go to Drive Time. PLEASE stay the hell away from there. Worst financial decision EVAR.
They approved me with your same situation and now I am stuck with a kinda crappy car that I am paying WAYYYY too much $$ for. It's impossible to sell it and not lose money and it's also impossible to find anyone that would refinance a loan that outrageous.
So that's just my 2 cents. Drive Time = Evil.

Your best bet is saving up like $2K cash and getting something cheap until you can fix your credit.

just wanted to add that you aren't the only one to name your vehicles.

I named my Bug Bandit moped motorcycle - Blowfly.

I named my 1988 Toyota Corolla (manual) - Bunny.

... and unexpectantly, I am totally in love with Bunny. I treat her like crap in a way and she handles it so damn well. Hardly little bitch she is
