    Default quick question

so far i've been good about paying bills on time, but i was late with my car payment by 2 days. does that matter? someone told me that you have 10 days after the due date to pay a bill, is that true to? i've been been able to pay my bills on time but lately i've been having money issues.

I highly, highly doubt that they would report you to a credit bureau for being two days late. Also, one late payment won't hurt you too bad.

that isn't a big deal. I've missed entire car payments before (on accident) and it didn't affect my credit. I just paid it the next month.

You're better off sending a partial payment on time than a late payment in full if it's the kind of thing you see yourself doing more than once.

thanks, i wasn't sure. ever since i was little my mom's been pounding into my head that you have to pay your bills on time they can't be even a day late. so that's what i've been doing, but this one time i couldn't make enough money in time. thanks. i won't do it again, i got lazy last week and took 4 days off work and i went to work thursday (which are usually good for me) thinking i could make it and i didn't. next time i'm not doing that.

The only time a late payment shows up on a credit report is when it is 30days late or more. Each loan is differant. Some loans have grace periods others do not. The only way to find out for sure is to call your financial institution.

A budget is a great way to help you make ends meet. It lets you see what is going where. It is easier to see where you can cut corners.

If you want to keep your credit report clean I would suggest paying all loans and credit cards on time. Especially credit cards because one day late there can change the interest rate.

Things like electric bill, phone, cable, and any utilities if you are late they do not show up on a credit report.

When I lived alone and money was tight because I was paying off credit cards I would juggle my utilities so that I could pay my car loan, rent, and credit cards on time.
