    Default Excel Help

Ok, so I'm getting really frustrated with my spreadsheet.

I have one column with quantity, one column with unit price, and I want to have another column that multiplies both and gives me the whole price!

But I can't figure out how

I know how to do it on a cell-to-cell basis, but I can't figure out how to make the whole column just do it by itself.
    Ideas?

in the cell you want the data in:
=SUM(e1*a1) which will multiply the number in e1 by the number in a1

but that's just for one cell, right? I want the whole column to do that

    like

    A B C
    2 4 8
    1 3 3
    0 2 0

I want column C to automatically multiply the number in the adjacent cell in Column A by the adjacent cell in Column B, without having to put the formula in each cell.

do what Mast said for the first cell. Then hit ctrl-c to copy that cell. Move down one cell, hold shift and the arrow key down until you've highlighted the cells you want to do the calculations. Then hit enter.

I hit enter, then what? Nothing happens. Do I need to paste somewhere?

I guess I will just have to go through and enter the =sum(A#*B#) for each cell in column C or what?

Move down one cell, hold shift and the arrow key down until you've highlighted the cells you want to do the calculations. **Note, the original cell must still be selected (i.e, it should have those moving dash lines surrounding the cell)**

    Then hit enter.
