Default Maybe im not cut out for it...

Okay so I just had the most depressing phone call ever...

My 'agent' is telling me he can no longer book me until I become blond with big fake tits. He said clubs do not want to book a natural brunette.

I don't get it... at Miss Nude Quebec there were clubs telling me they want to book me. Every booking I go to the clubs and customers love me... yet hes saying he can not book me.

I just feel like everything i've worked so hard for has been pulled out from under me.

I realize there are agents on the west coast that want to book me... and I can get tons of work on the west... but I want to FEATURE. I've worked so damn hard for this... i've put so much time and money and effort and emotion into this...

Its not like he was getting me a lot of work to begin with... Alena is telling me I should book myself... maybe I should... I don't know. Maybe im being a big baby about it... It just really hurt....

Fuck the booker (big blondes with fake titties are a dime a dozen) and learn the business side of this industry. Do research, get books, maybe model your approach after music bookers. Send promotional kits to clubs and managers, set up bookings, and learn about the way to most effectively get the most bang for your buck in terms of traveling and visas. After you have mastered this, you could even turn it into a business where you book other lovely Canadian dancers to feature in the US. The less you rely on the middleman, the more powerful you will feel. You'll have more money, too, not having to pay booker's fees. All it takes is some initiative and the internet. You already have pictures and titles.

Agents are IDIOTS, and this one is the biggest idiot of them all. You are an incredible pole dancer, you are already a feature, clubs already want to book you, and you already have titles. This nitwit can go fuck himself while thinking of silicone blondes, and your sexy ass can be featuring wherever you want without writing him a 10% check.

^ Well well said Yek. I really think that with the initiative that you have shown everyone on this board, you could really take this whole thing further. You're already a hot bitch, a feature, a traveling performer with creative ideas. With a little more elbow grease you could easily find out the ins and outs of touring the US or anywhere else alone, and then transfer that knowledge to other girls and be their booker at some point. Don't look at this as a diss from an asshole. Look at it as an opportunity to put a flame under your ass and learn all you can about this business.

What hurt the most was him telling me the only thing im good for now is table dancing.... that really hurt...

Then he offered to start booking me out as a table dancer...told me to save my money so I can get my boob job...

I mean don't get me wrong.. i've been wanting to get my boobs done, but I wanted to do them for ME not for the job. Him telling me I needed them for the job was just... ouch.. he told me at the very least to get a lift and lose another 10 pounds...

Cally my dear, luv ya and ye get maximum respect for your hard work, which is why I'm tellin' ya to pull yer head outta your derrier!! This kinda crap is standard mo & op for agents..... either "it" has fouled up and lost their "pull" or is trying to frick with your "perceived" value so he can raise rates, etc. You rock. Find a better agent or learn another aspect of the biz and do it yourself!!! (great post Rozz....me likeys )

Cally, read this again, again, and then a couple more times afterthat! Like Sun said, blondes w/ fake tits are a dime a dozen. You have to be the one to believe in yourself. If your agent can't see your desire, and see your willingness to succeed, then you need a new agent. Agents/managers are there IN YOUR FAVOR. They should have your best intersest at heart. You can do it baby..

I couldn't agree more with that statement. Your agent is full of shit. I would listen to Aleena and book yourself. Youve worked so hard becoming at awesome feature I would hate to see you stop here because of some loser agents words. Do you know how many people who didn't take someones advice/opinion and are now alot farther than that someone projected them to do? (rhetorical question there)

I will have to say that blondes with big tits are great; however, a woman that can hold an audience at her stage with a mind blowing personality will win any day. You don't have to fit a mold. You are already in one.

there's nothing wrong with table dancing!

Nobody needs a boob job, obviously, even dancers. But I can sorta see where your agent is coming from. it's nothing personal, but the people that book features expect that blonde with big tits, even if she is a dime a dozen. So what is your agent going to do? The only thing he can do is be honest with you about it, which it seems like he's doing.

he obviously took you as a client because he liked you. I really don't think it's him. It's the people that pay his salary (and yours.)

How hard is it to book yourself?

No there is nothing wrong with table dancing. Its just not for me. I mean don't get me wrong I enjoyed myself in Philly, it was tons of fun, and I still do it once n awhile between shows... but I hate going to work not knowing if im going to make enough money that night.

I really wish I had the drive that you have Emily lol... watching you was amazing.. I swear there was smoke trailing off your heels the way you were bootin it around the floor hustling lol.

But what I keep coming back to is... why did clubs tell me they wanted to book me? Like it wasnt me going up to them.. it was them coming to me at Miss Nude Quebec telling me they wanted to book me... then my agent is telling me they don't want to...

I think I do need to try and book myself... see if really is me... or if its him...

well, if the reason you're not into the table dancing is because of the fluctuations of money, you just have to prepare for that. I don't like it either, but also, being a turbo stripper kinda diminishes the liklihood of a bad night.

Def try to book yourself. I don't get the point of having an agent if you can book yourself anyway.

    Cally,

Tell your agent to go fuck himself.

As a I am a blond with big fake tits I find I have to work harder to stand out for every other barbie doll like me out there. You have class, style and a work ethic that kicks ass! Book yourself my dear and then tell your agent ( that is suppose to work for you ) that it's just a damn shame he is missing out on that ten fucking percent.

can i jump in on the 'fuck him up the ass with a rusty chainsaw' bandwagon? as a customer rather than a dancer, i'm sick of blondes with big fake tits...i mean, sure, they're a type and some guys go for them, but give me a brunette or a redhead with nicely proportioned curves (real or not) and i'm a happy happy girl...

it sound to me like he wants you to be HIS type, regardless of what the clubs/customers want, and that sounds like a shitty business decision on his part

(also, if he needs a good sound beating, i could always use a punching bag ;P)

as unpopular as this view might be among dancers, the reality of the US feature club world is that such things DO matter these days. It's getting harder and harder to attract 'new customers' into US clubs. One major way to do this is for the clubowner to invest in advertising / promotion in local media. With the typical highly visual but short attention spans of most American guys, clubowners think that they need to book features whose image will 'jump off the page' of the local newspaper ... or book features with mainstream porn credentials such that the letters XXX and hook Vivid or Pleasure Productions Contract Girl will 'jump off the page'.

It is simple business logic that US clubowners are going to be reluctant to shell out a feature fee for any girl whose visual impact or mainstream XXX porn credentials will not 'jump off the page', since the clubowners feel that the effectiveness (in terms of getting the attention of potential new club customers and motivating them to come to the club) of local newspaper ads publicizing such girls is far lower than similar ads publicizing girls with huge tits and big blonde hair, or girls with mainstream XXX porn credentials (but the ads cost the clubowner just as much). And again not meaning to be negative, but while the title 'miss nude Ontario' might be impressive in Canada, in point of fact it really isn't all that impressive to US clubowners who have at least 50 different 'miss nude ___'s' to pick from.

As true as it might be that there are some feature girls whose stage performance and/or personality might be mesmerizing to guys sitting stageside, without the huge boobs and big blonde hair, or without the mainstream XXX porn credentials, it's much more difficult for the clubowner to get those guys to come to the club in the first place so they will wind up sitting stageside ! Combine this with the financial reality that the clubowner must invest just as much money (if not more) in local advertising as the clubowner pays out in feature fee, and from the point of view of a US clubowner the prospect of hiring a feature whose physical first impression and list of credits is not much different from some of his better house dancers is a risky proposition these days from a standpoint of return on investment.

Not meaning to be the bearer of even more bad tidings, but Canadian dancers attempting to book themselves into US clubs directly are going to encounter a major obstacle these days ... obtaining a US 'work visa'. All major US clubs are required to verify the legal work status of any dancers they 'hire'. Where an agent was involved, the US club wasn't technically hiring the dancer, the US club was 'hiring' the agent ... and in turn the agent was 'hiring' the Canadian dancer thus circumventing the US 'work visa' issue.

I am not saying that it's impossible for a Canadian dancer to directly book herself into US clubs as a feature or otherwise ... but the question of obtaining a US 'work visa' will definitely become an issue that must now be addressed by the Canadian dancer. And attempting to work in a US club without a US 'work visa', which is definitely possible for a Canadian feature girl who is willing to lie, puts that Canadian dancer at risk of being busted working in the US illegally which in turn will get her deported and blacklisted from re-entering the USA in the future.

Okay - being blonde and having big boobs is never going to hurt you. I mean - there is a reason that it is the prototype. But being blonde and having big boobs doesn't make you pretty, and the reverse doesn't make you inadequate.

Your agent is likely trying to help you; but he could be playing off his own stereotypes a little. Try booking yourself for a few weeks and see how it goes.

Get the boobs if you want them, whatever, but you sure as hell don't need to lose any more weight judging from those last competition photos and you should rock your hot brunette Italian stallionette self.

Honey, you are devastatingly gorgeous! I don't say that lightly. He's a tool who can't figure out how to do his job better. It's key that your promo/agents be passionate. Be glad he told you instead of just shelving you quietly. But, don't give up, start regrouping.

Fuck him. Honestly, you don't need fake boobs to get booked. I've had ONE person fuck with me over my decision to stay natural in the 10 months I have been doing this, and they said it to be an asshole. You're hot, with an awesome personality to boot.
If you have the option of another agent, do it. Some personalities just don't mesh, and you'll be happier with somebody else. Don't change unless you WANT to, not so some agent will supposedly be able to book you more easily.
I'm friends with a feature that gave in to the pressure to get her boobs done, and when she did, it killed her bookings. I have no idea why, but the same people that were telling her getting implants would increase her bookings were telling her they could not book her because of her implants.

As for the table dancing issue, that is just a skill you can learn. Once you have that skill to sell (and the confidence behind it as well), the inconsistency in earnings won't be that big........... and you probably will end up making more money in the end.

I've learnt this lesson very recently.. never say never. Be open to the opportunities in front of you.

The opportunity is to either increase your skill and thus confidence in re table dancing and/or f--k the agent (book yourself).
