    Default Psyllium Husks...Pure Fiber

Well I've been trying to eat healthier for the last few days.

Something I added was psyllium husk. It says its safe to take daily, but I've only taken it once in the last few days.

Has anyone ever done a fruit/vegetable juice fast and added psyllium into the mix?

Let me just say...this stuff really cleans you out.

No, I haven't used anything like that. How much was it? I have been thinking of buying http://www.amazon.com/Heathers-Tummy.../dp/B0002ON8DU

It contains no psyllium, no citric acid, no insoluble fiber, no artificial sweeteners. People with IBS use this. Oh yea, and it's organic too.

I think psyllium husks and sugar are the ingredients of Metamucil (http://www.metamucil.com/faqs/index.shtml). Just make sure the one you are taking doesn't have sugar in it! And be sure to drink a lot of water. Its suppossed to be safe to drink before every meal.

Another alternative is to buy ground flax seeds and use it the same way, mixing a spoonful in a glass of water. I think even walmart is selling ground flax seeds now...

I take the pure kind. I got mine at Vitamin Shoppe. It was a big tub of it for like $9.99

I've never taken Metamucil. My best friends grandpa said it rotted his teeth...I never knew sugar was in it...guess he wasn't brushing!

    This stuff...makes you go, man.

I took some more last night and...let's just say I feel cleansed.

It doesn't give you the runs, either. It's like... normal but 5 times more.

I wonder if colonics is good. I know I must be backed up with cheese and bacon.

I use this stuff, bought at Trader Joe's. It certainly works! The label says to take 4 three times a day, but damn! I take just 2 or 3 once in the morning and it CERTAINLY works!!

You've never heard of a salt water flush???? I am addicted to them! You mix two teaspoons of iniodized sea salt (you can buy it at whole foods) with one quart of luke warm water. Mix it until the salt dissolves and chug it! The salt water is the same gravity as your blood, so you won't urinate any of it out, it will come out as a bowel movement. Salt has a natural property of drawing out toxins, so as it travels through your intestines it pulls out all the impurities. Be prepared not to leave the house for a couple hours though! You will feel unbelievable afterwards! I do this once or twice a month.

It's okay to drink all that salt?

Is it like...the salt absorbs toxins, my body doesn't absorb the salt kinda thing?

I might have to try that.

well that's good if you doing alkaline raw juices (celery, cucumber, parsley) would be the best base. avoid fruit juices... if you are specifically looking to cleanse colon, intestines, etc. usually then the liver and kidneys will need some assistance as well! (ginger, dandelion, tumerir root, licorice root, kelp, etc)
i would do more good green juicing and lay off psylium husks if you can. it causes more bulking if digestion is upset. especially for people that have not been eating extremely well for years. if you do take it get some good clays. that will help soak up the fibers. zeolite clay is great absorbtion of environmental, heavy metals, and other toxins being released out of organs into the bloodstream, it will help absorb and chelate them out out your system. and if you want to like on juicefeasting. here is good site. good luck and stay healthy!

JD, the salt water flush is better than a colonic???? That would save me so much cash. I get colonics almost every month (great for my skin). But if the salt water flush is as good as you say it is ...

    nycplaymates,
Zeolites screwed with my system big time. I'm a raw foodist too and have eaten clean for YEARS. Later after my supposed zeolite cleansing, I found out it contains aluminum. No wonder I went through every phase of inflammation. It was pertty painful. And my skin was atrocious.

I'm very sensitive to everything I ingest. I have to packages of 4 bottles still so if you want them, let me know! Too expensive to throw away.

Thumbs up Re: Psyllium Husks...Pure Fiber

yeah i know that clays can have quite abit of aluminium in them. and yeah there are some wack zeolites out there. that waira shit that is sold for 50 bucks for 2 oz is pretty gimmicky. i have done wild clays in AZ near tree of life gabriel cousen's health center. it was good! then again as you know being into raw and health. so many different stages the body can be in for healing or sensitivities. i know that raw nuts for good year! even soaked etc were totally awful for my digestion. but then again with digestion i think it's about eating pure even raw animal fats i have seen really help, quality raw fats vegan or animal are rad. i am sorry you had inflammation that sucks!

but overall people in here are looking for "quick fixes" mostly so offered her that. but there so many things besides "clays" or bulking fibers i would do first. eating simple mono blended foods or live foods even some cooked at first to help digestion from any starches, grains, procesed food habits that have gone on for years. etc.

I notice a huge difference with the salt water flush. I feel very energized afterwards.

Yep, I even became a distributor for Waiora against my own gut feelings about it. Oh what to do with the $400 worth of zeolites (sigh).

You retreated at Cousins? If so - very cool.

I think I'd go nanas without any nuts. Unfortunately I can't eat raw cashews.
