Default Morning Sickness (Not really, hehe)

Does anyone else feel crappy every morning? Like, dizzy... headachy... weak. I feel like this every morning for the first hour or so and it's been like this for a couple of years or so. I'm just getting old, aren't I? (I'm 24) I mean, every once in awhile I'll hop out of bed feeling great... but that's maybe once every month or two.

    Hi Bella21.

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way every morning.

So the way in which you phrased your post, it seems to me that you are excluding the possibility of pregnancy, right?

Then, may I also ask you,
Do you feel a nauseous / highly acidic / hungry-like "burning" sensation as well?

I used to feel like that when I was severely anemic. Have you had your iron checked lately? Hows your diet?

Hot2trot, definately not pregnant. It's very slightly nauseous maybe half the time and most usually not at all hungry. ALWAYS headachey, though.

Zabrina, I haven't checked my iron lately. I think my diet's okay, though. It WOULD be a good idea if I started taking vitamins.

So, you guys feel good in the mornings? Hm.

Yeah, I feel like that most of the mornings. Sometimes having dinner later (the previous night) helps, but not always.

May I ask about what you eat?

    Do you ingest any:

    1) Tap water
    2) "Diet" / "Light" / "Fat-free" / "Low-Cal"
    3) "Sugar-free"

    food items?

Depends...if I wake up on my own I'm usually ok. If I wake up earlier then I want to (someone waking me or an alarm clock as opposed to sleeping until my body wakes naturally) I feel sick. Really sick..and it usually takes about an hour or two for me to feel normal again.

Could be dehydration and/or lack of good sleep.

Hot2Trot, I don't drink tap water but I do injest a lot of fake sugar.

Hm, I'll up my water intake today. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be a good one.

I wake up like that after a really good night at work (lots of dancing, no time to refuel with water, food, emergen-C before crashing into bed).. for example.. last night. I made it back to the dressing room maybe twice in 6 hours for a couple sips of water, was dancing constantly (not complaining though, good $) and then after, instead of going back to my house, I crashed at a nearby friend's house, and wasn't able to eat or drink anything until i woke up at 1am.

So I definitely think the factors that cause the "morning sickness" are less do to do with lifestyle (i eat really healthy, take vitamins regularly) and more to do with damage control after working-- refueling with water, a good meal, and a big dose of vitamins. When I do those three things after work, i wake up feeling fine.

agh... but today.. i slept in until 1. drove home.. and then slept again from 2-4. no good.

    What about caffeinated drinks?

Your symptoms sound kind of like caffeine withdrawal.

Are you sleeping well at night? I mean going to bed and sleeping the entire night through or getting up multiple times? Are you getting enough fluids? It sounds like dehydration to me. I would say increase your intake of fluids, particularly water by 3 cups a day and see if that helps you.

I actually sleep badly. It's a good night if I don't wake up at least once. I'll bet it IS dehydration... if I could actually fall asleep tonight (waiting and waiting and...), I'd tell you the verdict tomorrow.

Bella21, I have heard the same symptoms you are experiencing from so many of my people recently who have all been to doctors ( ), some having been guinea pigged and branded with:

    1) Acid Reflux (TAKE THE PURPLE PILL),

and the rest written off as basically being non-specific with localized symptoms:

    2) CFS
    3) Fibromyalgia
    4) The ever classic "stress-induced / related symptoms or
    5) "It's all in Your Head Take this Anti-depressant" syndrome

which all happen to be blanket diagnoses.

In searching for a health alternative and ultimately, a health solution for them rather than a remedy, I have come across obscure (Hi Sassy; LoL ) jargonic scientific literature which resonates a definite clear-cut correlation with these symptoms and environmental pollution, including that of our food and water systems.

I could go into more details, but it is somewhat technical so ya'll would have to bare with me .

If you're not into the details, try this -

    1) Buy fluoride-free bottled water. Some companies, Dannon, I believe is one of them, has actually began to add fluoride to their bottled water, so you have to watch out for that.

    2) Buy fluoride-free toothpastes and rinses. Tom's of Maine is good.

    3) Shorten the length of your showers and use a cooler temperature, as toxic chemicals in tap water become aqueous vapors which are then inhaled into your lungs.

    4) Purchase a faucet mounted water filtration system. The more steps in the filtration process, the better. Pur is considered to be one of the best without being a bank breaker. A bit of cost, yes, but well worth the health benefits.

    5) STAY AWAY FROM ASPARTAME and PHENYLALANINE (Splenda, Equal, etc.) !!!

VenusG is right about this one. Artificial sugars contain both KNOWN CARCINOGENS, as well as KNOWN NEUROTOXINS (affect the brain causing confusion or "foggy headed," swelling and fever), and have been linked to heart disease, whacked metabolism, unbalanced electrolyte levels, autism in children, child and adult ADD / ADHD, migraines, IBS, kidney and liver damage.

    6) STAY AWAY FROM "Diet" this and "Fat-Free" "Light" that; i.e. Crystal Light, for example, which conceal toxic chemicals such as aspartame, phenylalanine and others, as ingredients (refer to #5).

I try to keep away from this stuff and I feel great when I do. When we ingest something toxic, our bodies always let us know, but we have been trained to ignore our bodies and let some person in a white coat tell us how it is that we feel.

I hope this helps. If you (or anyone else) have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Yea, I use a lot of splenda.

I took a vitamin in the morning yesterday and I drank more water than usual. I feel okay this morning.
