    I found my Vegas dress!

I'm so excited, I want to brag! Okay, I'm going to Vegas next month and I'm catching Cirque du Soleil (KA). I've been drooling over this dress:

But I didn't think I could find it... But I DID! The only difference is that mine is sleeveless (it has a deep V front) and floorlength (but the slits are still as high). It was only $100 for my dream dress! YAY!

You have the Official Mr Hyde Stamp of Approval.

However, we will need to see a pic of you in it at some point.

oh lord i'm trying to remember the context... it was less "being of service" than "being an object..." the man is faceless, powerful, not vulnerable, whereas the skin-bearing woman is both in a position of service and sexual objectification. Mind you, this ad really wasn't "bad," nor a big deal... i just thought it was funny to see it again.

The Jimmy Choo "dead woman" ads were a different story.

I think he's in a position of service and he's vulnerable (how can he run?) She's got him cornered and she's on top with the goods (vodka).

She is exposing skin, but not that much. I mean, her cleavage, legs and back are exposed, but he's not at a position to see it.

Plus he's a tool because there's no way he can get action in that chair.

not trying to argue...just saying my perspective

    hhahhaha

well, you could argue whether or not using female sexuality is ultimately empowerment or not... but i definitely did not want to get into this debate... i simply wanted to say i recognized the ad. again, this one was deemed much less "anti-feminist" *(and yes, there could be a few ways of looking at it, depending on your perspective... ) than some others. (i will once more refer you to jimmy choo. ugh. and those were on a huge billboard over rodeo drive.)

    sorry for the threadjack, bella!

I got my version at Sophisticated Lady. I'm gonna crash diet, though... the dress is SKIN tight. Woo!

    Np, Embry, I was curious.

The dress is a winner, but I didn't walk away from KA thinking much of it. I was told by a couple of women I met at the show that they thought "O" at the Bellagio was 10x better. I haven't seen "O" but I walked away with two impressions, neither positive:

1.) A lot of random show-off acts, with no sense of story or congruity.

2.) The music was all prerecorded. I was really looking forward to at least a live female singer. A live singer can set the pace and emotional ups and down to the whole show. KA felt well rehearsed, but lip-sync boring (if that makes any sense).

I heard O was the best and I kinda wanted to see the Zumanity one... but I didn't buy the tickets so I'm keeping my mouth shut.

Sexxy dress, whoever bought the tickets is one lucky person.

BTW, I'd recommend "O" too. You'll be spoiled once you've seen "O", so it might be good that you see another show first.

Zumanity was so amazing that I'd recommend buying a set of tickets to it since you'll be out there. As Cirque du Soleil shows go, it's not that much, and it could be like returning the favor to the person who bought the Ka tickets. It wasn't just the nudity either - it was the amazing performances - one of the coolest shows I've ever seen.
