Default Am I cheap for only buying one dance?

I'm a young college student and I go to the club every week and buy 1 dance ($40 + $5 cover). Then she'll ask me if I want another one and I usually just say "No thanks, I'm ok." Then she'll say something like, "Thanks baby" and gives me a big hug. But throughout the night, I'd buy her like 2 or 3 drinks (I personally don't drink).

The reason why I started thinking about this is because like, I'll notice guys back there for like 3-4+ songs compared to my 1 song and I'm wondering if she's just being fake thankful.

She's also given me the "Why did I have to meet you at the strip club?" line. How often is this line used?

One dance or a hundred, she's grateful for the money. If you just get one dance, that's still money in her pocket.

And that line is pretty much standard. I repeat, she's not into you, she's doing her job and wants you to keep spending.

I get annoyed when its only one dance.. but our dances are $20... and its just a pain in the ass... I have to walk up to the VIP, with a stop at the bar to pay the cover... then go back, wait for the next song to start then dance for $20 then get back into my gown, fix my hair and go back on the floor. So this total is 15 minutes of my time... I usually tell guys its a 3 song minimum for me now. But hey im a bitch

no, college is college, i know, it's not cheap. you're buying her drinks too, so you're spending more than the $20 for the dance. i'd be grateful for the 20, it's the ones that i sit with and have drinks with them and they say oh no, i don't want a dance. thanks for wasting my time. you're good.

$40, that wasn't a typo lol, drinks are about $10-15 each after tip of course.

Okay I just re-read and thought about what you said... you are in college and $45 + a few drinks is an expensive night out for college students.. so no its not cheap. Keep enjoying your time out

you're not cheap, if you want to give her more money than stop buying her drinks and if she asks why say you're a college student you've x amount of money and you can buy her 2-3 drinks and 1 dance, or spend all the money on dances. it's her choice.

No your not cheap. Customers should only spend money that they don't need for essential things such as rent, mortgage repayments, phone bills etc. No use getting into debt, that would take all the fun out of the experience.

Just make sure u r not taking up more of her time throughout the night without paying her for it. You said you buy her a few drinks throughout the night which is a nice gesture, but if u r expecting to chat to her etc for a long period of time u need to pay the same price as the dances cost.

As for the line "I wish I met u outside the club":

    (a) She just says that to everyone as part of her hustle to keep u spending and make u feel special.

    (b) Even if she meant it the fact is she met you inside the club therefore she is basically stating in a nice way that u have no chance with her.

$40 for one dance is not the norm unless you are maybe in a juice bar. $20 is. A dancer would rather have another dance than a drink FYI, so you could cut down on the drinks and buy another dance.

$40 for one dance is gouging in my opinion.

If you only want one dance, that's fine. Honestly, I'm sure she's glad she got the one from you, better than none. And the "Thank you baby!" and hug is fake I'm sure. I give a kiss on the cheek with that line. Nothing new, and it's not insincere, it's just standard. The more you spend, the more grateful she'll be, no doubt. But just the fact that you're not some perv who thinks he deserves tits and ass just for paying cover makes you okay in my book. Once again, not a GOD, but okay...

Yeah, it's never (or rarely) about the money you want to spend, but what you expect for the money. One dance is fine by me, but I don't want to spend half an hour chatting you up for it. Although as someone else pointed out - 3 $15 dollar drinks is another dance, or just a lovely tip for her time and she'd probably rather have the cash than the liquor.

Well let me rephrase what I said. I don't really "buy" her drinks per say. She'll order it while she's with me and I'll just pay for it, so she at least wants the alcohol a little bit.

That's probably because she's not really thinking in terms of the alternative. Like accept drinks, largely because I know (for some reason) guys get their backs up if I say "How about if you just give me the $10 instead?" Like, they'll give the money to the bar, but not to me. I don't really understand why. Next time, if you ask if she'd rather have the $10, she'll probably say yes. And if not - the status quo remains and everyone is still happy. Make sure you say "rather" - like be very clear that it isn't "both".

You're not being cheap, but like others have said, if given the choice we'd all prefer to do another dance instead of 2-3 drinks. I hope she's not sitting there for an hour for that one dance and drinks

I second everyone. While drinks are great, it would be a much bigger compliment if you either tipped me the drink money say 20 dollars on one dance or got two dances. Unfortunately, I can't pay rent with "I got really drunk last night." LOL!! However, you aren't being cheap. If you only want one dance, hey man, thanks. I make a ton of money off doing one dance for a bunch of different guys. Plus I understand not everyone is a millionaire! I certainly am not.

I can sort of relate to the male hustle hate because (please don't anybody think I'm talking shit here. I am not) I work at OG's and we have the guys upstairs. So my girls and I like to go up there to get a lap dance and a drink before we start work at midnight. Some guys are just so overly pushy and aggressive and make us feel guilty about only getting one dance when we only have a half hour to hang out before work and they know that, plus we OBVIOUSLY tip on the dances.

So, one dance is fine. It would be cheap if you went to the strip club and didn't tip or get a dance, that would be cheap.

I think, personally, I'd prefer the $$ for dances, not the drink. I get offered drinks all night long.

    agreed.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but honestly...yeah, I'd think you were cheap for buying only one dance. Would I show that I felt this way, or would I be rude to you, NO. (That's reserved for those who buy *nothing* and/or don't tip.) Would I be viewing you as cheap in my mind though, yes. IMHO I'm worth a lot more than $20.

Because I'm an insecure, self-conscious type of person who wants to know what people think of me.

I see guys come to my club, get a drink maybe, take in the show, get one dance and leave an hour or two later. I don't give a rat's ass, personally, but based on dancer comments I've heard, those individuals usually fall into the category of "cheap ass". Most of the customers I've seen doing this are older, though, and obviously not of college age so you might be getting special student dispensation from the dancers.

^^ I don't know about you, but I feel awkward when I am the only customer spending money in a club. I don't like looking around the club and seeing other customer's watching me tipping and having fun with a dancer. I feel like I have a target on my back and someone is going to mug me.
