Default plz help me with my hair (part 2)

i bought some velcro rollers. the kind that comes in a pack with 3 sizes. so... do i put the smaller ones in the front and the larger ones in the back?

and this might sound stupid, but do i roll them so that they face horizontal or vertical? ...... like... do i roll the strands upward from the bottom... or inward from the outside?

    ........ i -told- you all i'm a tomboy.

I am by NO means an expert on rollers, but when I did it I rolled them horizontal, and large ones on bottom small ones on top.

Pretty much. I roll my rollers diagonally though, I think it creates better ringlets (if that's what you're going for) when you do. They can go either way though.

inward from the outside... when you pull them out, you want a springy vertical curl

I have never used velcro rollers though. Are you using kind of damp hair and rolling, then blowing dry?

the plan is to ..... wait i can't think i'm mezmorized by the ass in your sig.......

    ........................*stares*.................. ..................

    ok.... anyway

the plan is to put them in when my hair is slightly damp, leave them in while i do my make-up, hit em with the blow dryer for a couple minutes... and then take em out.

i'm about to go do it. ummm.... we shall see.

If you get these to work please tell me how!

I have a hard time getting them out and it ruins the curls completely, plus I read you put them in dry hair and my hair doesnt seem to hold the curl maybe I should use them with damp hair

and not to mention I can barely get them to stay up when I put them in!

I want to know too. Don't forget details on hair wetness and product used in it. I can't seem to get them to work.

i tried it this morning and ummm... i had the same problem. the curlers stuck in my hair and when i rolled them out they kept catching and ruined the whole curl. i started with slightly damp hair.

the few curls that worked looked great, but uhh.. i don't know the "trick" to making it work well either. someone help us!

practice i would guess will help you get more perfect curls... dunno tho, I got annoyed with rollers. if you decide to keep practicing let us know how they go... and mayhaps shed some words of advice and maybe some pics : D

I always wet set my hair, meaning my hair isn't damp, it's right out of the shower and towel dried.

As for the curls "catching", many people wrap the curls around the roller by picking up a piece with their fingers and wrapping it around. Take a fine toothed comb, pick up a section of hair, and comb the section through, then wrap it around. This takes anyway even very tiny imperfections or tangles that can cause a messed up curl.

Many people take out the roller, especially when they're horizontally placed, by grabbing one end, and pulling...which is how curls end up mussed and knots are caused. Use both hands, and slowly unwind the roller.

i did use both hands and do it slowly. i'll try a comb next time though. i was just using a regular brush.

which direction did you unwind it? Try and pull it out horizontally, so the hai runravels directly on top of one another...if you pull it at an angle, the hair rubs too much an dtangles

If your hair isn't all one length than you want to use the smaller ones on the shorter pieces of hair and the larger ones on the larger pieces. For curls facing backwards, away from you, you want to take a small section of hair and put the roller behind it and roll downwards from the top to the bottom. If you want your curls facing forwards like bangs would face, take a small section of hair, place the curler in front and roll downwards around the front of the curler top to bottom.

Try hot rollers, velvet ones. They'll give you more volume and are easier, in my opinion, to use.

you might try twisting the section into a dread-like thing and then rolling it up the roller
