    Default Maltesers Commercial

So the commercial has a cute couple and one holds a malteser to a straw through suction and drops it into his girlfriend's waiting mouth while they both giggle.

I really like this commercial. (Yes, I evaluate commercials). I realized today, under the influence of much cold medication that the reason I like it is because I expect the malteser to drop into her throat, asphyxiating her. So I'm always pleasantly surprised when instead she just giggles and chews and swallows.

The roommate says that it's weird to expect novel and gruesome death from a candy commercial. Does this seem weird to anyone else?

There's an Australian commercial of these two doctors looking at a white mass in someone's stomach and going 'Is that a...' and it changes quickly to show a kid balancing a ping pong ball in the air using his breath while laying down. I have no idea what it advertises, but I love it. And because of this commercial, I would totally expect the girl to go choke on her balls.

You know what I've learned from the WSIB commercials? http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...&search=Search
This is why ads with novel deaths are somehow unsurprising.

I just found this thread looking for something else, but I felt the need to express my hate for the Maltesers commercial. So silly. Who eats chocolate from straws? Why doesn't she get the chocolate herself? Why is the chocolate named such that it makes me think of little white dogs?

I would also like to express hate for this commercial. Everytime I see it I wonder how they came up with idea and pitched it...like, does it mean anything? Maltesers are light, and are therefore a favourable snack food?

    Also, Jenny you're twisted.

For us Non-Canadians, I had to look up "maltesers". They look like Whoppers to me. Am i correct?

    Yeah Malteasers = Whoppers

My boyfriend HATES this commercial too. I don't even know why. He says it's because of the noise the straw makes??

Anyway now just to bug him I always say *whine* "Come-on gimme a Malteaser!!!" *straw noises* It drives him crazy haha.

I also hate this commercial and am very glad I'm not the only one who expected the girl to choke on the candy the first time I saw it. I believe my exact thought was "What a stupid, reckless thing to do! She could choke!"

Heheh. Hooray for choking spoofs. Die, Malteser girl!!

I still think some spoofing video would do well to address the fact that the chocolate was named after dogs.

Also, we sell Whoppers here too, I'm fairly certain. Strange.

Like "give me a malteser" and he suck a dog up through the straw and drops it into her mouth? And THEN she chokes!

Parfait! So long as the dog lives. I'm sentimental like that.
