I just got some clip in extensions and they look great except that it is very very very obvious where my real hair stops. Is there a trick for this? Help?

I had the same problem until I had my extensions cut into layers.
Also, curling your hair, both your actual hair an dthe extensions, amkes it blend then wearing it straight or slightly waved
Is your really hair pretty thin? If it's kinda thick, I'd try to blow dry my hair upside down, put the extensions in like normal, then try to play up the top layer of your hair covering the extensions. I know it probably doesn't make sense .... but I'd do it with the giant velcro rollers. Leave those in for a while on that top layer of hair and it will add serious lift and body. (therefore making the extensions less noticable)

Hmm, no...
I'm at a total loss for words. I'll try to take pictures tomorrow night.
I tease the hell out of the top of my hair to cover the top track. I don't know if that would help with making the layers look better, but it might. Also, when my hair was shorter, I thought it looked rather obvious with the clip ins, but no one ever noticed or said anything.

Curling or waving your hair victorias secret style helps a lot. I never wore clip ins with my hair straight when it was shorter. It blends now that my hair is long, but I always curled my hair or used a waver before it grew out. How long is your hair? Pics?
This thread is really helpful. I posted some pics of my clip ins (vs curls, wavy, and straight) and gave instructions for getting victorias secret hair.

Thanks, LR. You're my beauty hero.
My real hair is a little below my shoulders. The clip in's are 22" and almost to my ass. They are straight, and synthetic so I can't do anything with them. Where my real hair stops is very abrupt and full and hard to hide.
Last night another girl did them for me, and it looked great but it just wasn't the look I was really going for. She put them all crossways (ear to ear) right up to the front, which made them blend really well, but my hair had to all be brushed back, no part, and she made a little bump in the front kind of clip back thing to help hide my real hair.
I should probably order human hair ones, so that I can make the texture match my real hair better...

Here's the progression of my hair. See, in some light (luckily I work in the dark lol) it looks okay, but in other light you can see very clearly where my real hair ends... can I fix that?

Get more and begin clipping them at the base of your neck then a few inches above that. I'd use three rows of clip ins and the result was very natural looking. The bottom looks real thin, you could also try adding more hair to it ti thicken it up.
It's kinda hard to tell since it's so small but I'm wearing my clip ins in my avatar.

Lena- your hair looks thick! So thick that it seems like you would have to use more clip ins.

^^Yea use more hair. I think layering the hair would be better so it wont be so bulky. Set up the hair like this before you sewn the clips to the hair. Kind of layering the hair one piece then placing another piece 1/4in down from the other and so on.
Hope this pic helps.

I do do it that way, Susan, and that pic is with four layers across the back, one layer on the sides, and four random little one clip pieces. I don't think there's space on my head to clip any more of them? What about putting the bottom of my hair in a bun or something?
TM... I looked at the picture... I don't get it?
I think you need to get some human hair so you can style it properly. There's not much you can do with synthetic. Get some layers cut into them so they blend better. I'd even chop an inch or two off the bottom, then layer from there, just to make look more natural. You can round brush them on low heat, that's about all the styling you can do.
Latina Rose, you are my hero!
So I went and got the hair, attatched them to the clips after measuring and cutting, all in all in took about an hour and a half to do that.
I love them!!!!!
I posted some pics..... hope you can see them okay, and I hope they're not too big.
Thanks LR!

^^^^^^^
That looks beautiful curled!
They look great EE! Happy I was able to help. And they don't look too big, it's perfect stripper hair. Did you go with the 18 inch? If you decide you want them longer, you can buy longer hair and just make a few pieces for the bottom. Super easy for when you just want that extra umph of stripper-ness.
Your hair blends perfectly, too, can't even tell you have extensions in. This is why human hair is important.
Oh, and some lazy tips - curl the extensions during the day while sitting in front of the tv. Then quickly curl your hair as you put them in, then do some more curls once all the extensions are in to blend em better. This is so much easier and quicker than doing it all while you're getting ready. Also this waver is great for long extensions since it gives looser, bigger waves and waves help blend extensions really well.
I love this thing, but it does take some getting used to. Gorgeous once you get the hang of it.
^^ Oooh, I like that! Yah, I curled the extensions earlier in the day.....
I stole a piece of sttyrofoam from my hunny, and cut into a rectangle and stuck the top end of two thumb tack into the back, hung that on a wall. After I cut and stitched the clip ins I sat down and curled them all. When I was getting ready for work, I curled my hair in sections and added the clip ins as I finished each section, it went really fast!
Then when I got home, I pulled them out and hung them up on the styrofoam
Hubby calls it Squirrel Tail Art.
The first pic is my head without the clip ins, in case you couldn't tell. Thanks again LR, I love my new long stripper hair!
NOW, the only problem I have is keeping the clips in place. Most of them lasted through the night without a problem, but there was some slippage. So do I need to tease that area that I clip to get it to hold better? or twist it, it braid it, what? I heard tons of advice in the locker room, but I'd rather ask the experts!
ETA: Oh, and yes, I did get the 18" hair, I'm just a giant woman so it doesn't look as long on me!![]()

You don't have enough extensions. Your real hair is really thick, and the extensions are much thinner, so you can tell where your real hair stops because of that. If you use about twice as much hair as you have in now, it should be as thick as your real hair and therefore blend better.
Yeah, you can tease the area where you attach the clips. You can also spray a tiny bit of hairspray on the area, it makes it sticky and glue-y and helps the clips stay. I would either tease the hair or use the spray, not both. If you do both, you take the clips out and your hair is a sticky teased mess and it can be really damaging combing that out. All I ever did was twist the section I'm attaching the clip too, the teasing and spraying was too much bother for me.
Well, anyway, they look awesome and if you decide you want it a bit longer, just make some bottom pieces with longer hair and it'll blend with the 18 inch hair like layers. Have you worn them to work yet?? I swear they helped me make more money just b/c they made me feel so confident and stripper-y. Keep the damage to your hair at a minimum and one day you'll go to put them in and realize your hair is the same length as the extensions! Took about 8 months for me not to need them unless I just want thicker hair.
Huh?![]()
I'm excited about this too. I used to use velcro rollers to curl my hair when it was longer, made nice soft waves and I didn't have to cook my hair so much with a dryer and iron. I'm going to test the extensions this week and see if I can use rollers on them too, then my real hair should start bouncing back pretty quick.
