Since I just started exercising, I want as much help as possible. I'm very visual, so I like books and websites. So I thought I'd start this thread to share my new book I got that has been great, and to allow others to share their helpful material.
My recommendation is called "Banish your Belly, Butt & Thighs: The Real Woman's Guide to Body Shaping & Weight Loss". It's by the editors of the Prevention for Women health books series.
Upon first glance the book is hardcover and decently thick, so it kind of reminds you of a textbook for schoolHowever it's very non intimidating, and was ranked very highly on Amazon where I purchased it. Not only does it have great illustrations, it has great instruction.
There's beginner, intermediate, and experienced level laid out weekly exercise plans,
25 regular activities you do for fun that are great workouts and how to use them to your full advantage,
eating the right and wrong foods in each category, and yummy recipes,
Self coaching for a "new you" which takes common excuses and blocks and help you work through them,
and much more. I really recommend this to anybody who's beginning exercise and needs it laid out for them like a newbie. I really had no idea where to start.
What are some of your recommendations? Weight loss or fitness tools, tips, etc.?
