Default Need info on false eyelashes and hairdo.

Okay, I love false eyelashes. They just make the eyes pop open, but the kind I have been using for modeling shoots and film just seem to kind of go wonky after a while. Yeep! I don't have time to go back and forth just to fix a stupid eyelash. What brands are durable.. any recommendations?

Also I have a pinup shoot coming up. Of course I have to do my own hair, go figure.. so I want to fix it in that wavy 'do that the vintage pin ups have. Very fifties! Do I need rollers, hot rollers, what?

Any info would be greatly appreciated..
    Thanks ladies

I posted a picture of my with crazy 50's housewife curly hair as a result of using a set of hot rollers (varied thicknesses, but NOT the big fat ones).. is that what you're aiming for? It's really easy to do, you just roll your hair up, hairspray it, wait for them to cool, take them out and spray it again.. a lot!

as for eyelashes.. I've never had that problem, I don't know?

I do hair and I love that pin up look.

You can use hot rollers, then take a small section of hair right above your ears, tease the hell out of it and then shape it into a big barrel curl.
Make sure you tease the hell out it so it stays in place and you can bobbie pin it easier. Make it so the curl is vertical meaning up and down.( I wish i could post pics on here right now)
Leave some hair out on the top and use those to make pin-curls. Grab a little piece of hair and put some gel on it and carefully make it into a circle. Bobby pin it. Do a couple of those on top of the barrel curl on each side and there ya go. The back of the hair just stays lose and curled. And hair spray the heck out of it.

    Hope this helps....

N.Y.C. lashes, the double cross kind. They'll be labled right and left, but you only need one side (consisting of 2 pieces) for both eyes. So, the package is good for two total uses (so about a dollar an application, less if they're on sale).

You'll be able to tell how to position them when you pull them off of the tray--the longer lashes fan towards the outer eye, cat's-eye style.

Just wanted to add: you'll want to bend them a little so that they have more of a curve to hug your eye shape. Once they're on, they're not going anywhere, though. I think it's because the strip the lashes are attached to is thick and strong. And they're cheap enough to toss after 1 use...

Glad I could help. One more thing I forgot to mention about the eyelashes.

I just bought a kit on EYELASH EXTENSIONS. They are individually glued on to each eyelash. Very time comsuming and can be expensive.
I am trying them out now as I speak (write) . They should last around 3 months, they fall out with your natural lash. It's been a week and their still on, they get a little clumpy with the mascara though. They are longer than normal so maybe thats why.

As for the strip lashes. I think I like them better now that I've tried the extensions.. One thing i used to hate was I would always put to much glue on the strip. So In school they taught us to use a toothpick to spread the glue on the lash. This worked so much better. Good luck.

Yep, the glue can get messy .. I use tweezers to hold the lash and steam a thin, thin line of the glue right fom the tube onto the eyelash strip.. takes some pratice but it works great!
