    Default RIP Morrigan's Glasses...

Tomorrow I bury my glasses in lieu for some good ol' fashioned contacts.

So can anyone tell me how the f*ck I get the f*ckers in with fake nails?

In is easy. Out is the hard part.

Hard ot explain...but I use the back of my nail to kind of scrape out the contact...like use the nail to get under it and scoop it out....

Sicne you cant actually grab it with the nails, at least..I cant...

This is all bullshit.. why do I have to risk stabbing myself in the eye so I can get more fucking work. This is just a joke.

I agree in is easy. Out, I use the pad of my finger to move the contact over to the edge of my eye til it folds and I can grab it.

I use my 2 pointer-finger knuckles to squeeze it together until it folds itself out of my eye.

I've had contacts since I was 13 (though I wear my glasses when no-one that I need to impress is looking). The optometrist spent some time teaching me how to get them in and out (as well as clean them). Perhaps you could ask for a similar tutorial when you pick yours up.

P.S.- Don't throw your glasses out just yet. Full-time contact lens wear is hard on the corneas and can expose you to eye infections, which I found out the hard way (I had to get glasses myself after my contacts left me with an infection that could have cost me my sight about six years back). You also can not safely wear contacts for more than a certain number of hours per day. You should be wearing your glasses at any time that you don't strictly need to have contacts in. It will give your poor eyes a break.

Bah, when i was 13 it was still illegal for kids to use contacts, lol.
I had a tutorial with mine too - most optomitrists should be happy to help you. What type of lenses are you getting? I use daily throw away ones - so easy, I love them!

I've gotten the 'tutorial' and I am keeping my glasses. I've had contacts before.. but nobody can really tell me how to get them in/out with the nails. That's the problem! Anyway I got some good advice here, I knew you girls would know.

I would have expected optomitrists to be a bit more with the times!
My natural nails often grow very long and it doesnt matter because Im using the pad of my finger to put the lenses in so the nails are pointed to the bridge of my nose if that makes sense. Getting them out, I think I adapt to pinching the lense with the sides of my finger and thumb. Not sure though, ive had contacts for 20 years I sort of put them in and take them out without paying attention these days.

i haven't worn contacts in a few years (hooray for lasik) but when i did, i used to use the pads of my index and middle finger to sorta squeeze the lens until it popped off my eye...i'd use my ring finger to stabilize my hand, and pull my lower lid down a little, and then put my fingertips on the edges of the lens and gently push them towards one another...

i'm not sure if that made any sense, or if it's one of those things you really have to see...

I could never get the freaking things in but I had no problem getting them out in a pinch. Perhaps she'll get the best of both worlds?

Goodluck with those suckers! I need to get me some again.

Hey, I retired my glasses and got contacts this week too!

I used to manage fake nails and contacts, though I'm sure I don't know how. I'm pretty helpless in fake nails. Hates them forever. I just keep my short natural nails all neat and clean, and manicure them myself. No guy has ever complained that my nails are too short.

when i had fake nails, i would get them out with the side of my index and thumb easily, after moving them to the side.

getting them in is easy, good luck getting them out. I had to stop wearing fake nails once I got contacts. Let me know if you figure it out.

Pfft, I went there and they had a huge O.O blanke stare face when I asked...

anyway, I figured out a way to do it, some old guy was really helpful. His female staff sucked at telling me anything useful though. pft.

    I have them in now.

Pfftt.. it's bugging me right now. I always take off my specs to read the computer and I can't just pop out my lenses so the computer is all blurry to me!! It's getting confusing.

On the bright side - my eyesight IMPROVED. When I told the doctor I thought it got worse.. no.. it got better and my glasses are now too strong! w00t.

I could hardly get mine in our out when I first got them and now I can do it without a mirror if I have to.

I just put the contact on the part of my finger where the finger print is and sort of stretch my eye open with my other fingers and put it in. To take it out I just put my pad of my finger on the lens and pull it down. I guess it's hard to explain but you can certainly do it with nails. Turn your finger sideways.
