I was reading Women's Health magazine and I saw an article about the Abs Diet. Apparently it's supposed to help you lose weight from your stomach more quickly than other diets. My stomach has always been my problem area, so I'm thinking about trying it.
Here's an example of what you eat on a typical day on the Abs Diet:
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices whole grain toast, 1 banana, 1 cup 1% or fat free milk
Snack: half a whole wheat pita with 1 tablespoon hummus
Lunch: 3 oz. sliced turkey breast in a whole wheat tortilla with mixed greens, tomato, and 2-3 slices avocado, 1 cup mixed green salad with 2 teaspoons olive oil and vinegar
Snack: 1 oz. almonds and 1 orange
Dinner: Spaghetti marinara: 1 cup cooked whole grain pasta topped with half a cup marinara sauce and 1 tablespoon grated Romano cheese, side salad of mixed greens, olive oil, and vinegar
Snack: Low-fat ice cream sandwich
It sounds good because you get to eat plenty of food and it's food that I like. They recommend that you do abdominal work and weight lifting 3 times a week also, along with light cardio 3-5 times a week. You also get one cheat meal per week where you get to eat whatever you want.
Has anyone tried the Abs Diet? How effective is it? I think I'll start tomorrow and share my experiences with it. I have this exciting rock concert coming up in a month and I want to look sexy in my bikini.![]()
