I bet that it's the whole "Vegas stripper" thing. Like, guys have this built up fantasy about Vegas chicks.....WILD, CRAZY, do/say anything party girls just looking for a good time. WAY more crazy then the strippers back home....I mean, this is Vegas, baby! Alcohol probably helps you girls portray that image easier. Not that it can't be done drug/alcohol-free, it just makes it easier to get in the party frame of mind.

The reason they last so long is the Partners and Senior Attorneys are older and never suspect that this is going on right under there nose. Thanks to my "weekend career" I can spot the lies and excuses a mile away. (also, once when I mention being a little sore I was offered a handful of Vicodin.)

This particular office manager admitted it and told on herself after 2 years thus getting herself fired all by herself.
Definately not suprised. I've maintained several corporate jobs with a raging addiction. Point is, it is not only accepted in SC industry, it is encouraged. No one hides it, everyone is getting drunk in the open, and doing drugs in the bathroom.

OK, I feel like I need to add this, considering my post earlier where I said that I take E at work occasionally and don't see a problem with it....

...after yesterday night, I *do* see a problem...the potential for bad trips at work. I had never had one before, never had any negative experience with E before the other night. I don't know exactly what the problem was: maybe it was a bad pill (cut with something unpleasant?), maybe I took too much, maybe it was just my body chemistry on that particular night, who knows. But I had probably the scariest experience of my life so far. I was seriously freaking out. And what a fucking great night to have a freakout--the uber-strict GM was in town and watching everyone, and britt244 was visiting the club and so I was flipping out in front of an SW'er I'd only just met...and the poor door girl and DJ had to deal with me freaking out...ugh.

I still didn't act out of control--one customer I think could definitely tell, since I was sitting and talking to him right when it all hit me and he was looking at me like I was crazy, but he still bought 3 dances and raved about how sexy I was...eh who knows. I still made $400 that night...I don't know HOW, but I was still selling LDs. The GM and managers didn't notice I was having a bad trip; I still went onstage with no outward signs of problems, I didn't let customers take advantage of me or lose control, but inwardly I was experiencing the scariest, most ill feeling ever. At one point I was convinced I was going to have a heart attack or something really bad would happen and I wouldn't be walking out of the club on my own.

At one point something kind of snapped back in my head and I went right from feeling ill and panicky and awful to feeling the usual "good trip" stuff...and I was okay for the rest of the night.

And now whenever I hear "umbrella" by Rihanna, it takes me right back to that night...when I just got out of VIP with a really nice/fun custy and had to run right onstage with my top still off and I was feeling *amazing* just b/c the bad trip was over, so I was onstage dancing to that song and grinning like an idiot and sticking my tongue out at the DJ and laughing out loud onstage b/c the GM was laughing at *me* for some reason, and SO fucking RELIEVED thinking "yessss! i'm going to be okay!" Best feeling in the world after all that hell.

    but wow. Not worth it.

So yeah...I will NOT be doing that anymore. Not at work, not at all. Seriously scared the shit out of me.

I'm at your club...and I don't drink at work. Now, If a guy offers a drink, of course I'll take it. I'm not one to pass up free liquor. But if I get no offers all night, I don't drink all night. I do find I work better with a buzz. But I do not want to drink every single night of work. That is a lot of liquor to drink 4days in a row, every single week, and when you count in my days off when I do go out drinking, I would be drinking like, every single night of my life. You can kiss your liver goodbye, plus that's gotta be hard on the waistline. Plus....I just prefer to work sober.

Personally, I always did amazing while on Vicodin at work. I mean I had energy I didn't care about dumbass remarks and I knew I wouldn't drink.

Drinking at work results into sometimes making money but usually just wasting my time. Or forgetting I"m at work and not a party.

I don't give a flying fuck what anyone does as long as it's not so obvious customers and other girls are going " god what a shame" and making us all look like a crackhead.

Don't forget tripping over their own 2 feet!! Or stumbling when they try to take that skirt off onstage.

I'm with you, I could give a fuck less and I hope no one is that concerned with what I'm doing either.

At one of my old clubs, there were a few girls who would be nodding out from heroin. That was sad, and it made me angry because customers would notice. It made the rest of us look bad.
I also have no problem if other people want to do drugs so long as it doesn't affect the rest of us. Then again I often wonder what it would be like if strippers HAD to be sober to work. How much would the environment change if none of us were drinking or doing other stuff?

And Picaresque, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad roll - that happened to me once, although I was at home and not at work. I was having a great time, and then all of a sudden, I just started to feel REALLY BAD for no reason. I think that stuff can totally mess with your brain chemistry and there comes a certain point where it doesn't work like it used to. It depletes your seratonin. My aunt is a therapist and says she sees a lot of patients who are depressed and used to do a lot of Ecstacy. Maybe something to consider. I just don't feel the same when I do it anymore. The good feelings are mixed in with a lot of bad ones.

Hay now, I have a habit of doing that and I'm sober at work. It's called me, just being clumsy

Getting in the habit of drinking or taking drugs at work is a serious problem. Sure it can be a lot of fun in the short term, but it's very easy to get into the habit of it and not be able to perform at work without having a drink or drug. I've seen a lot of girls go downhill fast by indulging in the party lifestyle every night at work. I have seen so many girls get fired for being drunk or on drugs, it's not worth it. If your serious about making money dancing you should aim to work completely free of all substances. Otherwise the consequences are getting fired, loosing money and winding up with an addiction to alcohol and drugs, which can greatly your personal life and wellbeing.

This so depends on how your body reacts. I went to work high one time and I hated it. I can't think straight, can't focus, and I'm very self conscious lol. This thread is like ancient lol.

Following... I am struggling with this.. started my own thread before I found this one..

My boyfriend drives me to work now and I eat gummies... but the other day someone noticed I was high and it made me feel bad.. I am wondering if I should just not eat edibles ... I feel like I do better at work bc of them but then I feel guilty. bc I used to not do anything.. I am not sure what to do.. I really wanna smoke but then if ppl noticed or i just feel bad then why continue... but then I continue bc it makes work more bearable..

    fuck this is so frustrating

This is a pretty old thread, so it's fine that you started a new one. It's better to re-open the topic with fresh, recent replies than to bump some necro-threads with old info/members who may not be around anymore.

I used to smoke and have a big mug of coffee before every shift. By the time I quit I was smoking a lot every day because my feet hurt all the time. I don’t think smoking before work is a big deal frankly. All my friends in the restaurant industry were doing it too because they also had to be on their feet all night.

Personally I wouldn’t eat an edible before work though, it’s a much stronger high when you eat THC vs smoking it. That’s probably why people were able to notice. Maybe 5 mg would be ok?

I started smoking during work once.
But I ended up wishing I had never started.
What started out as making work more interesting, more bearable,
ended up making work chronically tired, lethargic. It got worse the more the buzz wore off. Esp. if I drank along with it. (which I did.)
Once I got tired, I thought the answer was to go smoke more, outside. So time after time. I would sneak outside and blaze.
Smoke breaks started to pile on top of smoke breaks. and I became zombie-like.
Even when I was selling some dances, I was tired, bored, sluggish.
    And less ambitious.
It was as though selling champagne rooms didn't matter anymore. They had become just a boring chore that lasted forever.
and one that I no longer cared to sell.
Going outside to top off my buzz had become my main priority.
Between visits to the DR to check on my makeup & hair (which I was doing a lot more of since I had become paranoid),
and visits to a hidden corner of the patio to bake up, it was like a full-time job. "Be right back" became a phrase that rolled off my tongue like poison.
But most of the time I only had dirt weed. It was all I could get. I had no one to ask to get me any.
    But maybe yours is better.
