Default No one actually STRIPS anymore!

Has anyone noticed that most strippers make zero effort to look sexy while taking off their clothes?

Song one: dance in outfit. Song two: take off top in a clumsy manner. Dance around. Song three: take off thong in a style that can best be described as gym locker room appropriate. Dance around. Put outfit back on in the least sexy way possible. Then go try to hustle table dances during which they get naked as quickly as possible.

Ugh, if I were a customer, I'd be pissed. We're supposed to be fantasy girls... create some fantasy, damnit. I'm sick of girls leaning against the railing, squatting to take their thongs off, looking like they could take a dump at anytime.

Since I've noticed this, I've become super critical of myself, making sure that every move onstage is sexy and fluid.

Yeah I have. The sad part is that clubs are stage only here, and girls are still freaking lazy. There is nothing sexy about *clomp clomp clomp* *tug on bikini tie and throw on floor* *clomp clomp clomp* *butt jiggle*

I agree. I'm going to be more sexy about taking the top off tonight. We are topless only so thongs don't apply, but I know exactly what you mean. There used to be a girl at our club when we wore gowns, who could not figure out how to remove her gown gracefully. She would end up sitting on the stage, pulling it over her legs. It was painful to watch.

It's the little things that count sometimes. 99% of the time, the dancer walks to the back of the stage to remove her top and throws it on the ground or puts it on the hook. Why not do it at the front of the stage where everyone gets to watch?

I agree. I was thinking about this the other day. But, is there even a sexy/graceful way to take off a pair of boy shorts while you're wearing heels? It feels like my only option is to hang onto the side rail in between the songs and take them off as quick as I can. And I can't do it while sitting down because I don't do floorwork. Every now and then I'll pull up my top while I'm sitting on top of the pole or something though.

I always made a point to take my outfits off FOR the audience. Taking of my bra, I'd unbutton it in the back, and one by one, take each cup off while still covering my breasts with my hand, or depending on the song, just rip it off with the dance beat. I'd always take my panties off gracefully, most often with my back facing them and dropping them to the floor and kicking them away. 95% of my customers commented that they liked me a) because I'm "thicker", and b) because my dance was sensual and I didn't just dance naked like the other girls. I always made it a point to dance for each man "personally" rather than just go though the actions, make them feel special, ya' know.

When I wear shorts, I transition from some floor work to lay on my back, arch my back, and take them off while keeping my legs together, kind of pin up style. Since you don't do floorwork, I would recommend bending forward til you're almost touching your toes and taking them off SLOWLY. When they're around one ankle, do a little kick to send them into the air and catch them. Takes some practice.

Cause if custies can reach it, they'll steal it. But I always stripped at the front and then transported the article to the back of the stage.

I use breakaway thongs. You don't have to bend over to take them off, just unhook the sides. It's easier to take them off and look good at the same time. I always tuck my thongs in my garter after I take them off.

Right, I'm not saying to leave it on the edge of the stage, but we kind of have a long runway. If you take it off in the back, no one can even see you.

I only got naked twice last night on stage though, because I don't strip for 0 dollars! Our stage tipping is non-existant.

Ha. Finally someone else gets it. I've been complaining about this myself for YEARS. For those few and far in between who pay attention to the slightest detail, I thank you. Believe it or not our job is an ART and if you hold it in that high regard it will pay off, as well as make us all look better and much more professional!

what irks me is what some dancers wear for an "outfit": thong and bikini top with legwarmers. our club is topless so for the second song all they do is take off the bikini top. there's no mystery. i wear either a gown or a bikini top with a mesh wrap, which i'll gracefully flail around. what bothers me the most is that customers don't seem to appreciate it at all. they just want you topless, quick. i can't tell you how many times customers have asked me why i wear so much clothing and how i should take it off faster. *rolls eyes*

    doesn't anyone appreciate sensuality anymore?

Ugh, I relate. Last night some guys refused to tip me until I took off my bottoms, so I didn't oblige them and did my third song with my skirt still on! This is not Pussy On Demand.

i know what you mean, but honestly, for me, i make a lot more money in skimpier outfits (bikini w a tiny skirt). i love wearing gowns, negliees, etc...but for some reason it makes me much less marketable. but that's just me...i know for sure that isn't true for every or even most girls...

and i agree that stage shows tend to be disappointing over all. so many girls do the same spin around the pole for 3 minutes. over and over and over and over and...or they hulk around looking like vultures because their posture is so poor.

but i love watching the girls who make an effort to be graceful and seductive. it's captivating.

Sigh, I hear ya about the typical stagewear these days. I kind of miss the old required sequin gown days myself.

Ah, the lost art of the tease... As a customer, this was one thing I was surprised at as well. I was expecting more stripping and less 'walking around naked.' But I LOVE tease... I guess that's why I got into burlesque.

I'm sure that has alot to do with it- many customers could care less about being teased. They want to see you naked, and soon.

Eh, you know what? im guilty of this sometimes. when im on my period and i cant leave work or i will be fired and im on stage over 25 times a night.. after being there for 10 hours i still try to be sexy but i dont put as much into it as i did when i first got there. When im pissed off, period, other problems, etc. i tend to bring it to work sometimes. its a bad habit. But its rare, and other then that im all for strip tease.

Um, I've semi-ranted about the lack of flair with the way most girls perform for years. It hasn't been a show for a long time, with most girls. If you're listening, plenty of guys complain about it too, and/or they compliment the girls who actually do strip tease.

I disagree that guys don't appreciate a tease. I make alot of money on teasing. In fact, I make my best money when I'm dressed slut-demurely (if you can picture that) and take my time removing the clothes. I get alot of attention. This kind of outfit and tease draws a better customer, the kind who will pay you to sit in VIP for hours. It may not get as much initial attention from the younguns or the ones with less money to spend, but as soon as they see me on stage stripping they're hooked and lining up for a dance.

You have to take a little time to learn the art of stripping though. For example, there IS a way to remove shorts while wearing high heels, and do it sexily. And you can use the rail or pole for support while doing it sexily. Turn on some music and practice at home in front of a full-length mirror. A little time spent practicing pays off many times over via increased confidence and sex appeal, which translates to $$$$

I always try to undress in a sexy way. What irks me are the girls who take everything off their first song, or they walk to the stage already undressed! WTF is that? I think it is just tacky as hell and I can see why guys aren't going up to the stage to tip, they've already seen everything she's got!

I don't take anything off until I have at least a few bucks on stage. Guys will get that hint, and they'll come up and tip and I'll always give a little peek to the first few tippers. Then after the first song, I go ahead and take the top off. But I leave the skirt on..... They want to see what is underneath.

The whole point of dancing on stage is to seduce your crowd, to make them want to get a piece of you once you've gotten off that stage. I've been complimented time and again about the way I tease. It's fun.

My main gripe is girls who dance really fast during private dances. There is nothing sexy about nightclub style dancing during a lap dance. It should be slow and seductive.

I also wear the breakaway thong and when Im taking it off I always give them a cheeky smile like I am being really naughty.

I have seen girls get naked on stage and nearly fall over trying to take off their bottoms. Not very graceful.

I have this bare-midriff little sweater that I wore tonight, and I made a big show of unbuttoning each of the 4 buttons. I got a lot of smiles. I paid to stay off stage tonight after the first rotation, so I can't speak for stage, but I got good reactions during dances.

For the most part, I can get away with wearing whatever during the week, be it a gown, an outfit that covers a lot, or whatever. On fri and sat I will not wear anything bigger than a bikini or that takes longer to remove than a bikini. Fridays and saturdays are ruled by 22 year olds, and they don't give a crap what you're wearing for the most part. Might as well wear the easiest thing to take off.

    yeah tottaly..

alot of girls just take off their clothes in a sort of 'robotic' repeative way...and i agree about the "gym locker room" way..ha! seriously! so UNsexy.

they jus take it off like theyre gona take a shower wen nobody is home...BOOORING!

i usually wear a three peice outfit...a bra-like top, thong, and some sort of mini dress or skirt thingy. but i would like even more clothes to remove to make it more of a tease..but what kind of things can u wear for that? anyone?

but when i dance, i like to dance sensual and slow...eye contact n a smile...take it off nice n slow..n yea i do get complimented on that.

and yea, Miss Marina...when i feel like CRAP i dance shitty haha.
