Here's another link I just saw. It's crazy that the ride isn't shut down in Dallas. It was a freak accident and all, but there is NO WAY I'd be getting on one of those the day after something like that happened. I bet the line is about >thisshort< to get on there.

This is so scary and sad. Rollercoasters are supposed to be scary in a good way, not supposed to make you fear for malfunctions. An exboyfriend worked in six flags in california and would always tell me about all the accidents that had happened in the history of the park. It's some pretty scary stuff.

That's just awful. Poor girl.![]()

That is horrible, but it won't make me scared of roller coasters - there are accidents - but compare the number of roller coaser amputations to car wreck amputations and if I stopped riding roller coasters once a year then I'd sure as heck hafta stop driving four times a day.

This is a sad accident. However, it shouldn't deter people from visiting amusement or theme parks. The chances of getting hurt or dying on a amusement park ride or roller coaster is very slim. You have a better chance of dying in an accident going to the amusement park rather than at the amusement park itself. You'll probably end up winning the lottery before hurting yourself on an amusement park ride. I've been to more amusement and theme parks than I can count. I've never been hurt on a ride. I did get scraped up when I tripped and fell on the pavement.
It's like airline crashes. The risk of an airplane crashing is so astronomical, but people are afraid to fly. I think the reason is when an airplane crashes, it gets a lot of press. Same thing happens to amusement park accidents. Heck, I've seen articles of rides stopping make front page news!
Besides, the ride that the girl was injured on wasn't even a roller coaster. It's an Intamin drop ride. Here's video of a similar one at Six Flags St. Louis:

Here's a video of the ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom:

Ummm sorry but I really don't see the bright side in that statement. That is no compensation for never being able to walk again and a young girl's life forever changed after what was supposed to be a fun day at the park.
What a nightmare. That is absolutely horrific.
I was at Busch Gardens, Tampa FL, and witnessed a ceiling fan on a cart break and fall on a woman's head. I thought thought was awful, I couldn't even imagine witnessing someone being maimed so gruesomely.
Sad.![]()
I'm going to bed now to scream in my sleep.
Poor kid...Ugh.

awwww come on are you serious!?!?!? deleted my funny ass posts.. nazi shit IMFO.
^^They delete anything they don't like man. You should get used to it. If you speak the truth also and they don't like it, it's deleted. But, your posts were kinda uncalled for though.

dude.. they were fuckin hilarious in my opinion.. i am not the only one who laughed either.
Karma is a bitch.

The posts got deleted because a) they were in poor taste, and b) you should have kept them to one or two posts, not 10 +. That's just way too spammish.

Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

*sigh
It wasn't a roller coaster, it was a free fall ride, the Superman. Which is just like the Drop Zone at Kings Island just a different color. We were at that exact Six Flags 2 weeks ago and I rode that.... thats scarey!!!
