Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
haha I was wondering if mine would pop up but I doubt it will. its one of those names that everyone says "Oh I love that name!" but no one actually does. I only like it because it sounds wicked good with my last name....
side note: I loooove the thread that your Pooka quote is from!! LOVE IT!!
^^ Seriiously the things I do online as a passtime are SW, Myspace, Craigslist looking for vintage cars and free stuff, Looking at houses for sale, looking up names and name meanings, and online stores...
I love Adelaide.

I grew up with a deeply stupid last name and a fairly unusual first name, so I got made fun of a lot. However, I have come to love my last name and I have every intention of keeping it if I ever get married. Thus, there is a chance that a child of mine could inherit my absurd last name... if this comes to pass, I will kindly give him/her a nice, normal first name to offset the idiotic surname, because I'm thoughtful like that.
Except that offhand I can't think of what any of these names might be, and since I'm stubborn and self-absorbed I am going to post this totally useless post anyway. So there.
OH WAIT OH WAIT I thought of something funny to contribute.
I once met a kid (in Costa Rica) who was the fourth of whatever-the-family-name-was. He sometimes went by "Numero Cuatro." The American kids in my foreign-exchange group thought that was excellent and convinced him to shorten it to "Num-Cuat" (pronounced "numkwat"). He loved his American nickname and vowed to go by "Numkwat" forever.

"In life, we DO a lot in order to accomplish mundane trivial things before we die, but it is in death and after death in memories that we will truly live, because it is in the level of care and detail that a person paints of us with stories from their memories and experiences with us that give us meaning."
I have a friend Katy, who is just a Katy and it isnt short for anything and he HATES that her parents named her a nickname. She likes her name fine but she said she always feels kinda dumb and/or angry when people ask what it's short for.
