    Default Fuuuuccckkk.........

So I needed to go to the bank and pharmacy today, so I was throwing my hair in a ponytail on my way out the door. As I lifted my arms up, I pinched a nerve in my neck, bad. I can't turn my head, and I can't get it to loosen up. I put flexall on it, and took some ibuprofen and a muscle relaxer, cuz I have to work in 3 hours! Anybody have some quick remedies?

Fuck, guess I'm not going to the bank....

I used those Aspercreme patches when I tweak my neck. They look like a big square bandage and give heat and analgesic relief to the area. Now, a nerve problem will only heal with rest, but this might "numb" the area a bit.

Don't do any crazy tricks at work tonight, dont fling your hair. Also, don't drink heavily because that will make the condition worse when you don't realize you are overexcerting it. I used to fuck up my neck ALL the time dancing, it sucks. Good luck!

Can you get a hold of some Valium or something like it? I was prescribed that for a "cervical neck spasm" (similar to your problem.)

I think you should skip work....If you have to go in, call some regulars & explain the situation, they might humor you and come in and make the night profitable without too much exertion. Hope you feel better!

Thanks ladies. I took some robaxin (left over from my boob job). I have lortabs, percosets, and oxy's left over as well, though I'm scared to take any of them since I have to work. I would skip if I could, but there's no one to cover my shifts today, so I'll have to go in.

I don't drink at work, so that's not an issue, I wouldn't mind just sitting and not working most of the day, but since it's a stage only club, I'm gonna be stuck working at least a little.

I would use a heatting pad! It's good because it will warm the muscle and loosen it!

Biofreeze is kind of like icyhot. I agree that it works wonderfully, but it also has a strong, medicinal odor (might be hard to mask at work). However, post-shift...

I would get some Epson salts to put in a hot bath. It has worked well for me in the past for temporary relief of muscle strains. I can't take muscle relaxers, I am too sensitive and they knock me out. Maybe you need to just take it easy for a night.

    ooowies!

I dislocated my shoulder brushing my hair while i was in year 6, my mum didn't believe that I was actually hurt, she thought I was joking around, despite me not having any arm movement! she took me to the doctors who then called an ambulance!

Alot of pain, a serious amount of it!

    Hope you get better soon!

Make sure you wash your hands right after applying Biofreeze. Otherwise, they end up kinda tingly and without real sensation for a bit.

Hey, thanks for the advice! I've been doing it wrong all of these years!

Oh, and in my experience, percocet acts like a combo of vicodin and valium. The only opiate painkiller I liked even though it still made me nauseous. They give those for after-boob jobs? Wow!

Yeah, that's what they gave me originally. It didn't kill my pain enough the first couple of days (I have a really high tolerance for pain medication of all sorts for some reason) and so they gave me a script for oxycontin and lortabs to take until I could get the pain under control.

They make me really nauseas too though, so I try not to take them unless I'm really in pain and going right to bed.
