I work this fucking stupid shift from 6-2. It's bullshit anyway because all of the later night girls only work six hour shifts, but if you work days or mid shift you have to work eight hours.
Tonight I was having a shitty time because I am very depressed and a lot is going on in my personal life. It was about 1 a.m. and they wouldn't let me fucking leave until I did another set. So I stay, even though I was pissed. Then I get on stage and the dj plays a fucking FIVE SONG SET. I was over it.
So I packed up my shit, but left my lock on the locker, because you know how we are, we always go back. Just like battered wives! And as I was leaving I told the main manager that I was leaving for a while and told him why (about the six hour shifts and shit), and he didn't even act like it bothered him at all that I was quitting.
Let me tell you, there are maybe 10 great looking girls in our club, and I was one of them. The rest range from decent to street trash. It is as if they don't give a shit whether they have nice girls or not.
Funny, in this business you can be on time, look great, do all of your sets well, sell a million dances, work like the energizer bunny, but when it comes time to ask for a little favor all of your efforts are nil. You might as well be the drunk bitch who starts fights in the dressing room, comes in late, pukes in the garbage can, misses tons of shifts. They treat us all the same way.
So, tell me, what is to gain by being a good employee? Obviously personal gain, but why doesn't management recognize that some employees are more valuable than others. Are we really that expendable? Shit, don't answer that, I already know.![]()
