    Default Why oh Why?

Do I suddenly get really hungry right before bed? How can I stop this? I know it's not good for weight loss to eat a lot before bed, but if I go to bed hungry I will actually be woken up with hunger! I seriously will have to eat something in the middle of the night if it wakes me up or I cannot go back to sleep!.

Can you maybe eat something small? A bit of fruit with some milk. The milk will actually help you burn fat while you sleep. Or try cottage cheese.

protein helps keep you full longer, so maybe your last meal have a little more protein, or have something with protein before bed

Cottage cheese is one of the best things you can eat before bed, actually. What I usually read is that you should eat protein and/or fat, but try to keep the carbs to a minimum. Peanut butter on an apple, or a piece of toast, might also be good.

I am the same. I actually cant fall asleep if i feel hungry.

I always want bread before bed too which is bad coz its carbs. So I have been trying to have fruit instead. Doesnt quite fill the spot but it takes the hunger pains away so that I can fall asleep.

What about ensure or Slimfast? Fills you up, small amount of calories and you get your vitamins!! Although it only works if you are craving something sweet.

A glass of water and some raw veggies might do the trick.

You know what sucks is that going to sleep with an overly full stomach sucks soo fucking bad. Nightmares almost always end up happening.

And going to sleep with a really empty stomach makes you restless and sorta nauseated .

I'd say eat some toast, drink a nice full glass of cold water and anything else that won't weight you down.

Just try and stay away from fatty foods ..so you don't get heartburn. Or feel like garbage the next day

If you drink a lot of water that'll help (although you'll still have to wake up and pee). The best before-bed snack for me is a piece of cheese. It's got enough fat and protein to keep me feeling full, plus calcium and other good things, but it doesn't fill me up bloated like a full meal would.

I almost always have to have a snack before bed too...both from hunger and because I need to take my meds with food or I get sick. Usually some low fat crackers and cheese and a nice hot cup of green tea does the trick.

though I do admit to caving to the occasional midnight piece of frozen pizza...bad bad bad....but SO good!

I'll have yogurt if I'm hungry before bed. I like it cause it's in it's own cup. I'm not good with portion control- so if I start eating cheese or basically anything else I'll over do it.

My trainer says it ok to be hungry and eat something before bed. As long as you eat the right amount of calories from your ideal mix throughout the day (carbs, protein, fat) So, in theory, if you spread out your meals to very small ones, it shouldn't affect weight.

I have to eat close to bed because I work from 8-8, then I do other things till 9-10pm, and often havn't had dinner. I ate grilled chicken and veggies an hour ago, and an apple right now before bed.

If I get hungry before bed I eat. I've never noticed a diference in weight loss or gain based on when I eat, just how much I eat in total.
