I've seen this plenty in my work. Lots of people throw away money on dining out, takeout, fastfood, prepackaged food. Although I'm no model of spending discretion, I have no problem advising my clients that they are being idiots for this.

1. Brew some coffee, a big tin of even decent coffee will last a long time. I like Cafe Du Monde, and one $8 tin will last me 6 months at least.

2. Buy your own eggs and toast. It takes 5 minutes tops to scramble and toast.

3. Look for specials at the grocery. Clip coupons, you can even find them online.

4. Limit your dining out to 3x a week, or whatever figure you are willing to put up with.

5. Buy easy-to-make things; salad ingredients, can soup, bread, sammich meats, pb&j, pasta, frozen veggies, frozen chicken breasts.

I live off this shit, lol. If you live in NY, don't they have open markets where you can get good fresh stuff?
