i was looking into making a trip out west (alberta) i was wondering if any has gone out there to dance, or dances out there. I was wondering how it was, if you'd recommend it. which clubs are cleaner. etc. any feed back would be great!

    Which city?

Edmonton, Red Deer, Ft McMurray, and Grande Prairie have stage shows but require tabledancing...there is a quota.

Calgary has no table dancing just stage shows.

    2 agents for Alberta...same company....

    Independent Artists

Edmonton Office (covers Red Deer and Northern Alberta): Brian or Murray 780-433-2500

Calgary Office (covers Red Deer and Southern Alberta): Ken or Dale 403-299-9640

If you have any othere ?'s feel free to ask!

I am in Calgary...so if you are in town....let me know and I will stop in to say hi!!

Oh an albertain! every helpful!! A friend of mine contacted independant artists actually, so we kind of got the low down... about lisencing and all that jazz. We were thinking either edmonton or calgary. we were told to get there before the end of july because that's when it's busiest. I was just wondering what the differences are between working out west compared to toronto. Toronto has become very dirty, and that's the main reason why i want to try it out there.

In Alberta you are paid for your stage shows...and dances are NO CONTACT....or at least supposed to be. There are a few girls who feel they need to do more to make their money!!

But yes, it is cleaner out west.

Stage shows...20-24 in most full week bars. There are clubs that offer 1/2 week spots...9-15 shows. Contracts are for 6 days. You miss a show you are fined, you are late for a show...you are fined. You fuck up...you are fined or fired!

Agents and clubs are a bit more regulated here than in Ontario. There are 7-10 girls on a lineup...vs. the 10-50 girls in a dance bar in Ontario.

In Calgary...yes before the end of July. Most AB is quite right now...start of summer holidays.

Northern AB is great in the winter...rig crews rock!!

I guess where you want to go depends on how strong your stage show is. If is is strong...anywhere! But if you rely more on dances than stage...better off with Edmonton to start.
