Default Building a house! Yay! (advice)

Well, as some of you know I'm going into business with my dad later this year. He lives about an hour and a half south of me. My family owns land and are all building a house on the land. Well, I've decided to also build a small house on the land. I have a couple questions that maybe you guys can help me out with. Well, first off I'll tell you that my family already has some workers layed out to help with the foundation of the house, so we already have labor taken care of. We're pretty much going to be doing the rest ourselves, but we have alot of help within the family as far as building goes. I was thinking about building a cinder block house (i see alot of those in Florida). Is it cheaper to make a wooden house or cinder block house?
Also, does anyone know a good website where I can get a low-price house plan? It just needs to be a small one or two bedroom house and I can't find any plans for less than $500, but my mom got a 2 bedroom plan for $200, she just can't remember where she got it.
Actually any advice or ideas/tips would be nice, I'm just ready to get this going! I'm clearing my space at the land next week.

My uncle built his home from a kit sold by Sierra House Kits (they're based in California.) Even though the house is technically "manufactured" the end result looks nothing like a prefab home & it's even superior in some ways to a standard house.

PM me and I'll get some info from him....

Is there any way to "pretty up" a cinderblock house? I saw them on Puerto Rico but I thought they were soooooo ugly.

Two Ag schools sets of plans. Generic though they may be, the plans are cheap and the homes of various sorts quite usable.

"Cute" little homes. I like the concept though I don't know if I would like climbing a ladder to go to bed.

This is many time better than concrete block. since it is a solid structure and offers protection from disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and wild fires. The insulation will help out with heating and cooling tremendously.

    Just for fun!
