    Default Vitamins cause acne?

This past month I have had just horribel acne. Like I am hitting puberty all over again. Before, I would get 1 or 2 pimples every month during my period, but thats it. Now...I seriously look like a 14 year old girl. My face is in bad shape.

I have been taking my vitamins regularly, and I wonder if I'm combining something wrong, or overdoing it.

So heres what I take, does anyone know where I'm going wrong?

    Walmart hair pills( california naturals)
    5,000 biotin
    omega 3 oil
    flax
    CLA
( I stopped all the oils, cause I thought maybe that was doing it, my skin has been oilier lately. I only took 1 pill per day of each)
    Silica
    B complex
    Multi
    1,000 C
Milk Thistle( I wonder if this is the cause? The zits seemed to start when I added this in.)
A combo Calcium, magnesium and zinc

So...Am I takign to much? To many oils? Whats going on???

Isn't there biotin in the hair pills? Then you take more?

Try taking the zine seperatly, on its own at night - just before you go to sleep.
What mesurement are you using - is that 5,000 of biotin a mistake (Im reading that as = 5 grams)?

All hair pills are is biotin, I think. It may be causing you to break out, and it can also cause depression. You might just want to do one or the other, not the walmarts and the separate biotin.

Actually, the Wal-Mart hair pills don't have that much biotin in them (TONS of vitamin A, though).....

    Riboflavin: 1.7 mg
    Niacin: 35mg
    Folic Acid: 400mcg
    VitaminB12: 10mcg
    Biotin: 100mcg
    Pantothenic Acid: 92mg
    Iodine: 150mcg
    Zinc: 15mg
    Copper: 2mg
    Manganese: 1mg
    ---------------------
    Choline: 60mg
    Inositol: 125mg
    para-Amino Benzoic Acid (PABA) 35MG

Other ingredients: Cellulose, calcium phosphate, steric acid, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, food glaze, vanilla.

    ohhh.....

    There is the culprit!!

To much vit A can cause breakouts.

    Thank you soo much!

I'm gonna cut out thoes hair pills. I don't see much of a difference with them anyway.

No, actually it seems I got mixed up when searching for causes of acne. It's excess b vitamins that cause acne, not A.

    Sorry, my bad

Actually, too much Vitamin A can be toxic to your liver so maybe it is the culprit. I found this out when I was taking Airborne because I was already taking a supplement and realized that it had tons of Vitamin A in it also.

Really wierd - this is still waiting to post on another tab s-:

This may be useful in regards to vitamin A

Also in regards to the hair pills, note that vitamin A is measure in IU and the other vitamins in mg or mcg.

    >>You cannot convert iu’s to mg’s because they are two different types of measurement. Internal Units measure the potency of a vitamin or element while micrograms measure the mass or weight.<<

    Possible other things:
If any of the vitamins are inhibiting your liver from processing your hormones effectively, that could be the cause--but I doubt it.
Or, one of them could be encouraging the production of hormones to a level that is too much for your skin.
    Just some ideas...

I'm takign a break from all my vitamins for now.
In a month, I'll re evaluate what I want, and start adding thigns back in slowly, and watch for possible reactions.

i thought milk thistle was supposed to help acne?
maybe it happens when you first start taking it because it brings everything to the surface as your body cleanses and adjusts- like the prescription acne treatments do. those say that the first few weeks acne will get worse before it gets better

Milk thistle is good for the skin...but it is a liver detoxifier. So as the toxins are released from the liver, it can cause skin eruptions.
The toxins gotta get out somehow....
