Default Anyone with actual experience within New York clubs?

Im currently located in Hawaii but things have been getting slower and slower as far as business goes. One of my co workers went to New York (Rick's Caberet) in Manhatten and said her worst night was $800.

Does this seem to be the norm or average that some of you guys experience while working in a gentleman's club in New York?

    Anyone have any recomendations?

$800 a night gross is definitely doable in the better Manhattan clubs. However, keep in mind that between the IRS, the NY state income tax and the NY City income tax, the gov't will attempt to grab at least $250-$300 of that $800. Also keep in mind that rents, retail prices, utility bills etc. are also usually much more expensive than in most other parts of the country.

I guess the point that I was trying to make is to keep some perspective in regard to the $800 club earnings potential. What really matters is the amount of money you have left over after all of your taxes and bills are paid. In many cases, a $500 club earnings potential in a state/city with low taxes and low costs of living may allow you to save more money than an $800 Manhattan club.

Like Melonie said, you can make that kind of money for much of the year there, though summers tend to be slower and girls generally make less then. But the cost of living in NYC is extremely high.

Go there and try it out, see if you like it and if you actually can make that kind of money--you have to know how to hustle to make money in Manhattan clubs. I haven't lived/worked there in a few years now, but when I left the business seemed to be on the decline (there just as everywhere else). Even the nice clubs were allowing more contact, and customers were expecting more while wanting to pay less. And, of course, another "upscale gentlemen's club" opens up every six months, spreading the client base out further...

But who knows? Still might be an improvement over Hawaii, and a change of pace if nothing else.

I worked at Penthouse and it was really hit or miss there in the summer but my worst night was $700 and I had two $2500 nights. I did jump ship a couple of times because it was so SLOW.

No I mean sex acts and customers were expecting it. You can still make money, but you have to bob and weave! Those Russain girls were SELLING it. No offense intended towards Russians , but that is just what I saw at Penthouse.

    Ditto....

I believe some Brazillians too. To each is own, but I wish they kept those acts at a brothel, or escort agency, not a STRIP club...

My friend and I were planning a trip to New York at the end of August, we thought about trying to work at least one night, make some extra money and just have the experience of dancing in New York, what is licensing like up there? What would be a recommended club..? (For some reason I can't access the club reviews section)

Ditto on what Melonie said. You also have to factor in that if you commute to NYC, if you don't have a paid parking space (those can be QUITE expensive), it can swallow up even more of your income. I drive into Manhattan but only because I have a free place to park very close to the club I work at.

I mean, is all of that relevant if I just want to work one or two nights there? I live in Atlanta, we were going to fly up there for a concert and hang out a few days, then come back.....are the taxes applicable? Any clubs that don't require a permit...?

You need a valid ID and SS card to work in NYC.

Technically, you'd still owe the taxes but I doubt they'd track you down. Well, I hope not! No permit though!

Extras are not limited to Russians , Brazilians or any other ethnic group.
Certain clubs have a permissive atmosphere either by turning a blind eye and not wanting to know or by active involvement and encouragement. Ultimately it's up to each individual dancer to set her own limits.
