Default Hustling for the "bigger" picture!

As some of you know, a lot of dancers lose money as fast as they make money. Whether this money is spent on themselves or in other cases... their boyfriends, drugs, etc.

I started dancing when I was 21... got a taste for it. Moved around to a few other states and now I've been dancing for two years (Im currently a very attractive 26 ).

Is it possible that by the time I'm 30 I could have enough money to own a house, travel the world, and finish school?

Im not saying its not impossible... but I need a realistic picture of what kind of money Im looking at.

Thats why, recently hustling has become so important to me. When I was getting back into the business you didnt really have to hustle so much because money was just flowing out of the club. You could easily make $400- $600 during the DAY shift.

(I did work nights as well and it was the same amount of money as a day shift. So I avoided a overly drunken crowd and moved to days.)

I had other issues at hand that didnt inspire me to hustle... I was dealing with a bad break up, moved to a town where I knew NO ONE, and of course with that comes depression. So, needless to say I was floating by as opposed to milking it for what its worth (even though I am a hard worker and dont stop dancing just because Im tired).

I realize if I take good care of myself I can do this for a few more years. You dont exactly turn into a hag at the age of 30. Sides, most women Im noticing at the club... who make the most money are usually not a fresh 21. The later twenty crowd and up have amazing confidence and work experience in this field... they really know how to make the cash and shrug off the cheap customers.

Anyhow, my other reason for hustling lately is that the money pool seems to have gotten really shallow. I work the day shift and the night shift... But Im getting pretty burned out and I figure... I should just switch back to nights.

I have a savings account... and I did some math...

Is it possible, to make $10,000 a month?

Thats making $500 bucks a night 5 days a week... and comes out to 120,000 a year.

Although Im not exactly fond of being at the club 5 days a week.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Well, I'm going to be very honest with you. There is no guarantee in any business, that will you will make a steady $500 everyday. Maybe before this whole war thing in Iraq, but people in these days are watching their money a little more carefully. Especially in the summer when people are traveling alot. With the price of gas, and inflation in almost product we consume here in America, our dollar just doesn't go as far anymore. I used to be able to make a guaranteed $500 minimum every night, but now they seem to be getting further and further away. I really think it depends on where you are, and how the economy in that area is RIGHT NOW. Some girls on here are saying they make that kind of money everynight. It really depends on you as a person, and how dedicated you are at meeting your goals. I personally think, that if that is what you really want, you can make it happen. But that means if it takes you working 10 days in a row 10 hours each day, that's what you have to do. I'm not necessarily saying that you will have to do that, but set a certain goal for yourself for the week, not by the day. One day you might make $350 take home, next day $600, next day $275, etc. etc. That way you can say, OK, I made $2300 so far in 5 days, so in order to meet my goal for the week I need to make $200 more. Then start your next week. Make yourself a schedule of what days you know you would want to work and how many hours each day. Stick to your schedule no matter what. If you do this and stick to it, like a real 9-5, you will succeed. Just remember some weeks might be better or worse than others, so don't get discouraged if you do not meet your quota every single week or month. By the end of the year after sticking to a strict schedule you should have made what you wanted to make. Just remember one thing. If you really want to buy a house, and live a nice life, YOU HAVE TO PAY YOUR TAXES. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT!!!
And you're not going to want to pay taxes on that much money. Believe me, it's no picnic paying the IRS, especially in this line of work. We have to pay our own medicare, social security,1/2 self employment tax, federal and state. The self employment tax, social security and medicare really kill it. So if you're planning on buying a house, you will need two years of tax returns to show good faith, since you are self employed. If I were you, and you plan on making over $100,000 for the year I would not claim more than $48,000. for your first year of taxes. I had to pay out $5200 at the end of the year, with two dependants,I'm married, and after all my deductions. Maybe I didn't have a really good accountant, I don't know. But I do know, that she did everything by the books, so I know I won't get audited. So, with all of that in mind, just remember that you can make the money, but after all your deductions and paying taxes you might only clear on paper $35,000.00 for the year instead of $48,000.00. Do not put your money in the bank either. Only the money you plan on claiming and use to pay bills. Paper trail will get you in trouble with the irs. Get a safety deposit box or a trust fund and put all the money you want to hide in there. Now, if you WANT to pay taxes on all of your money so you can buy whatever you want, then claim it all. But, you're not gonna be happy with how much net worth you have in the end. Net income is what you clear after taxes and deductions. So first, call the IRS and tell them you just became a dancer and you want to start paying taxes. They will give you a tax ID#, and send you your estimated tax coupons in the mail to send in your quarterly taxes. If you do this, save up like $1500/month to put away for taxes and then after three months send it in. You do this every three months. Then at the end of the year, when you figure how much money you made and did all your paperwork, you'll either break even and not owe anything, you may get some back, or you might have to pay out more. It all depends on how much you want to claim. The more money you want to claim, the more you pay and vice versa. Just to let you know though, when you start paying taxes, it's alot harder to save extra money. So, maybe you should put your tax money in your savings account, plus a little extra for trips or whatever and the rest of your retirement money in a deposit box or trust fund. From what I know, you do not have to pay tax on trust funds. In all seriousness, you should talk with a financial advisor or someone at your bank who can help your money work for you. Maybe open an IRA or something for your retirement, and then that way you have more net worth also and a steady retirement account on paper. Or something like a savings account or any account that will pay you a little higher interest. Well I hope I helped a little, but there's just so much more to say in such little space. I really hope you will take my advice and get professional advice on how to help you make the most out of your money. After all none of us are getting any younger and you will not be able to shake your money make forever, so make the best out of it and be smart with your hard earned money. And please, please, do not think that because you are making money, that it should entilte you to go shopping and buy outpriced items, every week. You do not need an expensive ass car or jewelry or anything else either. Save your money, don't waste it on material things. Believe me, your money will go much further, when you budget yourself and live a normal life like anyone else who is living paycheck to paycheck. If you follow those things, you WILL ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS!!!!

    Thanks for that advice!!

Already I am paying taxes at the club for the hourly pay that I get from my boss. I do this so I can get financial support for school. So there is a "record" of something.

But there is the whole issue of putting money in the bank...

When I started my "first" savings account I didnt realize I would get a tax form for the interest I had gained. It wasnt much of anything but its still a way that they can track your money...

So I think the option you mentioned... safety deposit... is a good idea!

I think what a lot of young dancers dont fathom is that they get the idea that they can just let time fly by and spend money like crazy... and not save. But were all gonna get too old for this business eventually. We all have expiration dates.

By no means are we all gonna become hags at 30 but we need to realize we are on limited time to make this work for us as much as possible.

    1. For most people, the more they have the more they spend

    and

    2. I think you're hopes/expectations are a little unrealistic, but I wouldn't be too worried about what you're going to be doing in 4 years. When the time comes for you to quit dancing you will find something else. Save what you can because another career may not be as lucrative, but live for today as well as the future. You might not be able to retire at age 30, but if you have a nest egg or a house that's partially paid off it will be a heck of a lot easier to live on less income.

(And these are the words of experience- I have a college degree, I have "retired" from dancing only to return when I couldn't make ends meet at a regular job, I am a homeowner... and I once did the exact same thing you did: picked up everything and moved to a city where I knew no one. Since then I've made lots of good friends and I'm still here.)

Perhaps you should check out Dollar Den and find out how to invest your money so you can have all that with investments from your larger income from dancing!

Have to say, I don't think $2500 a week is unrealistic at all. It does depend on a) how good your game is, b) your club and your city's economy. And in my experience, the former is more important by far.

And a safety deposit box is NOT a good idea. If the IRS decides to audit you, they can easily access your box.

IMO working 5 nights per week is too much in this industry and u will end up earning less than u would if u worked less days and put 100% of your energy into those days.

I work 2 nights a week but our shifts are long - about 10-12 hours.
I choose the 2 busiest nights - friday and saturday to maximise my earning potential.
I save the majority of my income and still live comfortably.

Stripping is too variable to be able to guarantee that u will earn $500 per night. Also, if u put that kind of pressure on yourself that u must earn $500 per night, I imagine u would burn out really quickly.

^^ there's definitely something to be said for figuring out what your style is and what nights fit you best at a club. I'm not a weekend person. Sunday through Wednesday is usually when I make my best money. Might sound weird, but the typical weekend night crowd and vibe just doesn't work for me. I can work those 4 days in a row forever without burning out, b/c most of the time the atmosphere is right.

So I work Sunday through Wednesday, and I treat those nights like a game. I don't focus on the money at all, just keep going through the night and count at the end. Then if I've made my goal by the end of Wed night, I get the weekend off! If not, I go in and brave hell on Friday or Saturday night.

Find out what works best for you as far as style and scheduling, and it'll be easier to make more money. Do you do better on days or nights? Certain nights of the week that are usually good? What kind of crowd is easiest for you to sell to, and when do you usually find that crowd in the club? Do you feel better working five days a week for five-hour shifts, or three days a week for 8-hour shifts? Are you good at hustling 45834976523984 lapdances, or is upselling to VIP/CR your strong point?

I split my money in thirds... a third to live on, a third for student loans, and a third for retirement. I just work enough to make enough money to live on in my third, but it translates to good savings.

if you hide cash money in a safety deposite box/safe/under the mattress, it will depreciate over time. Maybe you should still get a sfety deposite box but instead buy gold and silver ounces. these will increase in value with inflation.

You will not be able to buy a house unless you PAY YOUR TAXES.

You can't get a loan large enough to buy a house unless you have sufficient reported income.

Theoretically, you could save up enough hard cash to buy a house, but I think the IRS is going to be pretty effin' suspicious of someone who reports 20 grand a year and lays down 200k in cash to buy a house.

I pity these girls who think "WOOHOO! Cash means it's all mine and I can just roll it up and stuff it in my ears and say 'fuck off IRS!".

The BIGGEST problem girls make in this business is NOT WORKING ENOUGH, AND NOT TREATING THIS LIKE A CAREER.

You HAVE to work a set schedule and put in 5-6 days a week. If you can work 5 days a week in an office job, plus commute both ways in rush hour traffic 1-1.5 hours each way, you can certainly work dancing the same way. If the guys and the environment get to a dancer, it's because she allows them to get to her. An office job grows old really fast too.

A lot of variables come into play when talking about making $10,000 a month. First off putting in 20-24 days a month, not drinking and getting high, developing good relationships with regular customers, the amount of volume a club has, the amount of dancers working in relationship to the customer count, how easy dances are to sell in your club, the potential to sell VIP rooms easily, fair but not exorbitant house fees and tip outs, just to name a few.

I work 6 day a week bookings, and have some regulars, and earn between $6500-$9000 a month. Of course some months have 4 weeks and some have 5. Since I travel to work, I take off 13-14 weeks a year.

I would say in today's market, $75,000-$100,000 is doable in a year, full time.

Getting the proper routine going as a dancer will allow a girl the ability to work full time, set goals, and have money to show for her time.

As they say, it's not what you do, but how you do it, right?
