Default Really stupid common sense question.

that I lack the answer to...

At Cheetah, we were allowed to accept tips in our garters, which made it easier for repeat tippers, because the dollar went hand-garter, and they liked that we came over and knelt down to talk to them/thank them, so they usually tipped several times.

At Dolphin 2, we can't accept tips in our garters, the guys just put the dollars on the tip rail. Some girls carry purses, but I have no need for a purse as i can't be on the floor, so I just take the money in my hand back to my locker and store it. Should I get a purse/bag/box/container of some sort and put it on stage to put the dollars in to get them OFF the tip rail to encourage more tipping? I was just putting them down on the stage so the rail was clear, but I think that looks stupid, as it's such a slight movement, and not actually "accepting" the tip.

    so....help. please?

You could pick them up and put them in your garter yourself, or pick them up and kind of toss them behind you.

Yeh what Lena said. I wear my tips in my garter but guys arent really allowed to put them in there and i dont want custies putting there hands near my other money anyway.
Otherwise yeh just pick it up and carry it carefully to the dressing room.

But i would NEVER leave my money in a bag or locker int he dressing room,.

We're not allowed to wear garters on stage....Why wouldn't you put your money in a locker in the dressing room? If it's locked up and all... I don't see any way it could get stolen. Maybe I'm just naive.

Well coz lockers are not hard to break into.
I just prefer it to all be in the garter.

I just had an idea why dont u get a pair of those Pleaser tip jar shoes. u can put your tips inside them.

I've always found it works to go over there, awknowlege teh tip, and strategically knock it off teh tip rail.... It encourages them to put another up. SOmetimes I put my foot up on the dollar and pretend to adjust my shoe or sensually stroke my leg while i talk to them, or else I lean on the rail "for balance"(and better view of my boobs)

But that WORKS, both for the one on one aspect, as well as for making them feel guilty about the bare counter. Only ONCE has a guy called me on this-the moment I'd turned away, he picked his dollar up off the inside of the stage, and put it back up to make it look like he'd put up again. That irritated me, particularely since he was one of the "do i look like a guy who has to buy dances to get a cute girl close to him?". Yuck. just yuck. Put up or SHUT UP.

But yeah, lockers can be broken into pretty easily. THe tip jar shoes are an idea, but i've heard that they don't wear well, and i know you already get foot problems pretty easily, so they might not be comfy(I heard they sink back over the "jar", and get really uncomfy unless you stuff the jar wtih something for "support")

Yeah, I guard my purse pretty closely... even when I do the couch dances, I hook it around my ankle before i start the dance, and I always keep an eye on it on stage and in the dressing room.. You're right, its not an IDEAL situation of having the money ON you and attached at all times, but you do what you can....

Some girls do as ntd said and sweep them from the rack onto the stage, then after each song clear them all to a corner by the steps. I really don't think it matters, but I understand your confusion as I experienced the same thing the first time working there.

You could get boots i've seen many girls stuff their tips in them. I have tip jar shoes and they're very comfy even though they've started sinking a bit but i think that you don't have to stuff them with anything if you put some wooden or plastic chip over the hole to support the piece that covers the hole

Keep a purse and keep your money in it at all times. It's also a good idea to always keep your cell phone and keys on your person at all times and a purse serves this purpose too.

I saw a girl who, contrary to everyone else didn't wear a garter and didnt take tips in it (even though she was allowed to) she would wait for about $10-$15 to accumulate, come up to the front part where the money is mostly put make eye contact with the guy smile an thank him while she bent down, from the waist, not on her knees or crouched) and picked up the money, then she would whip her hair all sexy like an all of a sudden she was walking away with the money.... she made little piles at the far far back of the stage where no one could reach it... it was sexy and seemed to work for her. When she was done she just put it all in her purse.

I used to put tips in my boots until someone tipped me $200 in singles... ...my stocking underneath ripped. But that's probably a single case. Otherwise, yeah, just wear boots.
