    Default stuck on the pole

haha so i bought these hot pvc thigh high boots for my show and i had rehearsal yesterday and discovered that i cannot pole dance in the boots.

The boots got stuck to the pole while I was hanging upside down and it took me ages to pull myself off.
So I am not going to be able to use them for my show now coz im doing l0ts of pole tricks.

So BOOOOOOOOOOOO coz the boots were a big waste of money

That is why I don't like to dance in stockings...I CAN'T get any grip in them at all...but it forces me to do better floorwork.
If everything you try is a sure thing, you aren't taking enough risks. If you never fail, you put a limit on the degree to which you can succeed. In short, the only way to win big is to risk losing

I've had that happen. I started to slide out of the boots. It's like they were glued to the pole.

Yeah, I've been stuck before too. There are just some moves that just can't be done while wearing them. On the other hand, once you get used to them, there are some moves that are much much easier to do. Its just a matter of trial and error. Don't toss em yet, give them another shot.

There are certain types of PVC that are not usable on the pole!

Sounds like you found one of them!!!

I wear boots every time I am not in bare feet on the pole! I learned to pole in boots.

When I say "Not Usable"....I mean until you learn to control your grip with your legs!

It takes some getting used to...you are used to placing your body in certain positions to have grip on the pole.....the boots do, in fact, give additional grip...so you do need to adapt to the new grip!

Hope all works out for you!!

Be Careful! Due to this unforseen grip I ended up ripping one of my knee high boots from the seams. I was trying to do an upside down move where I was holding on with one leg. They were a new pair and according to the shoe guy they could not be repaired. I had to toss them. I now dance in ankle boots or dancer shoes, no problem there.

Thanks Alena. I think because I learned to dance in bare feet and then heels it is just going to take time to adjust. I think I did find the type of PVC that is not suitable. What about leather boots are they good for pole dancing?
My show starts next week so I am going to have to just wear platforms as I dont want a mishap during the show.

Oh yeah Alena, Felix (miss pole dance australia) did two guest appearance shows at my club on saturday night. Let me say my jaw was hitting the floor, she is an absolutely amazing talent, amazing.

I've done that! I actually now purposefully work with the boots because they stick and my precious skin doesn't get those nasty bruises now. You get used to it, but the stuff might start flaking off after awhile.

    Jaizaine....she is incredible isnt she????

I would love to learn more of her style, but since spin poles are RARELY used, her style is not what they are looking for here!! But I still play around with it!!!

I wish I would have known she was performing, I would have loved for you to say something to her for me!!! Ahh...too bad!!

    ^^
    I got her phone number!!

we dont have spinning poles in melbourne so she used our pole which is super high. It goes from the bottom floor to the second floor ceiling, and she pulled vertigo and back pull up from right up the very top.

    I was mesmerised.
