Default What's a Good Club to Gain Experience in AZ?

Well, so far I've gone to Skin Cabaret and Bombshell's Cabaret. Skin told me to tighten and tone up n check back in 3 weeks. Bombshell's told me to go to a diff club for about a month, lose 10lbs and then check back. So... Now I'm looking for a club that will be lenient about my weight where I can gain the experience I need for the ones I want to work at, but is also a safe/nice place to work in.

Tomorrow I'm going to try out Desert Flame, Vegas, and maybe Sinn. Any suggestions or info on any of those 3 clubs?? Thanks for the help ladies!!

Oh girl, RUN (don't walk) from Vegas and Sinn! I don't have personal experience with Vegas but from dancers who've worked there, hear it's ghetto and dead. It's in a bad neighborhood/location that doesn't exactly draw business.

Sinn I'm well aquainted with, and, well... talk about a place that lives up to it's name! Heres a list of things you can look forward to when working there:

    * Tons of girls prostituting and encouraging customers to meet them outside the club, or...
    * Girls fucking, sucking, giving hand jobs, and getting fingered IN the club (and not even in v.i.p.)
    * Open drug use in the dressing rooms (Smoke all the meth you want in front of management, they don't care)
    * Underage girls getting wasted and staggering around on the job.
    * Lots of ghetto girls with lousy attitudes eager to pick fights without reason
    * Constant fights in the dressing room. You can keep to yourself, no need to seek the drama. The drama will seek you!
    * Unlicensed bartenders and cocktail waitresses giving lapdances and competing w/ dancers for customers
    * You're not allowed to bring your own music
    * DJ's with overinflated egos who won't play the music you like if they don't like it, but will play the music you hate just to spite you (and you're required to tip them?!?!)
    * Tattered upholstery on the dance couches, v.i.p. couches, and champagne room. Perfect for getting your stilettos stuck to.
    * A lying manager known for accusing girls of not paying house fee the day before just to extort them out of more $ (which he probably pockets)
    * Filthy bathroom with boogers and shit streaks on the stalls.
    * Not the best neighborhood and plenty of ghetto customers.... but no metal detectors!

And if that isn't bad enough, the customers expect outrageous contact thanks to the damn hookers. Theres always going to be guys who try to be sneaky, but over there they aren't even subtle about it! Guys there will grab you by the tits, yank you forward, and start sucking away. Happened to me pretty much every day. Bouncers don't do shit unless you can actually track them down. And then they just warn the guy and tell you to avoid them, rather than kick them out. One of the staff even admitted to me that they know whats really going on and opt to look the other way because 'they know we have to make money'. Yeah, like they really care about us making money! A friend of mine got screwed out of $500 worth of dances. The bouncers didn't collect a cent, but admitted to her that when they checked the customer, he had over $1,000 in cash on him. Since then my friend no longer tips double like she used to.

When I first started there management told me they were in the midst of getting rid of the riff raff and replacing them with classy girls. HAHAHAHAHA!!! 6 months later they keep hiring ghetto, ugly ass hookers who chase the classy dancers away, re-hire trouble making girls who get 'fired' for fighting, and have an increasingly cheaper clientelle. Their gross girls (and the ghetto bar customers they attract) drive more and more of the decent customers away. Too bad, really, because it's just up the street from downtown and could've been an up and coming gentlemen's club a la Hi-Liter. It's a decent sized club, with a nice layout and good stage. I really hope this club turns around one day, but for now I've lost faith. Frankly, I'm shocked they haven't lost their liquor license or been shut down yet.

Not to be rude, but Bombshells isn't a hard club to get into and is pretty newbie friendly. If multiple clubs are telling you to shape up, maybe you should shape up first before getting back in the ring. As a new dancer starting out at the worst time of year, in an already oversaturated market struggling further due to numerous economic factors, dancing will NOT be lucrative for you at the moment, especially if you aren't in top shape. Theres plenty of super hot, highly experienced dancers who are seeing a drop in their earnings right now. We new dancers have it even worse since unlike them, we don't have regulars to keep us afloat. It's luck of the draw for us.

Please don't think I'm saying any of these things to be condescending or discourage you. If anything I'm saying this to encourage you to work on yourself a bit so you WILL get hired at a nice club in the future. Theres clubs in town that'll hire you if you're out of shape, but frankly, you don't want to work those clubs! Low quality control ala Sinn = low earning potential out here. Or paying too high a price for it to be worthwhile. Save yourself the stress and stay away from the nasty clubs. Under the current circumstances they're just a living hell.

If Bombshells were closer to me I'd work there regularly. You should give that place another shot. It's small, but REALLY NICE, attracts customers who actually spend, has classy girls, a positive vibe, and a great staff.

You could try Centerfolds too, which by a longshot is the best club I've worked so far. They go to lengths to keep ghetto customers out, have high hiring standards, a pretty professional staff, very accomodating dj's, an awesome v.i.p. setup, good spending, well behaved customers, they won't allow customers to get away with nasty shit, etc. etc. etc.

I've also heard great things about Sonny's night shift and Pink. Best of luck to you.

HiLiter sends girls who need to lose a few pounds / tone up to Band-Aids or Pantera. I've heard those aren't very good money, but they'll probably hire you.

That said, I agree with Dollyrocker when she says you're most likely better off waiting and getting yourself in shape before jumping in. It's hard enough to make money around here these days, even for the most in-shape, best hustlers.

THe only bad things about Vegas Caberat is that there is no money to be made there, but a great place to practice and the more you practice the more toned you will get =0). Give it a try- it's kinda in the ghetto though..but you will really benifit from it- and from what i've heard the management is really friendly. Good luck

Also i wanted to add sense i have been a dancer (2 years and i still feel like an amatuar lol) i have only worked nude. I perfer it from what i have heard from other girls that have done the topless thing. It's a whole different enviroment in nude clubs- majority of guys that come in have some money...they are there because they want to see the na-na and they know that will cost them, in topless clubs alot of guys go there w/ enough money to get in the door and by a few drinks and just hangout. In nude clubs we don't really atract that type of crowd because there is no alcohol. Also w/ alot of the nude clubs it's your choice to show the na-na. Obviously you make more showing it, but there are only like 3 girls at my club that actually get completly naked! Everyone else just will move there panties to the side for a second- snatch there dollar and move on.It's easy money..neways i hope this helped you~~!!! =0)

Thanks for all the help/ideas ladies!! I realize it's the slow season right now, but it makes sense to me to start now, (I have a daytime job so extra money's cool but not a big deal.) since I'd be able to get comfy in the biz and work on my hustle/dancing before the busy season hits. Not to mention, since there's less customer's I probably won't feel as stupid starting out.

I'm really not overweight and it surprised me that bombshells even mentioned my weight because after I talked to the house mom n all of that, I go back to the dressing room and there was a girl bigger than me. I really didn't get it. I kind of think the main thing there was my inexperience. I'm pretty positive I looked hella goofy. lol The other thing that Beautiful Disaster sorta mentioned is that I can get tone and lose weight practicing and such. So for me atleast, it makes more sense to be working and shaping up fer my clubs of choice at the same time. BC really stressed the, "Go to another club for a month, get some experience, and come back!" All the girls and staff were really supportive on that too.

So yuh, I'll still go to Vegas tomorrow and see what I think. A lot of the people at bombshells suggested it over any other, plus it's close to my house and I know they're hiring. Sinn is def out the window though!! Still no word on Desert Flame, so I dunno...?

Thanks for the great advice! I def appreciate it.

Yeah don't do Sinn I only worked there one night, and the bouncers told me anything goes. I ran from that place.

I work at HiLiter now and I love it, very easy going but and the bouncers will stop if the girls there are doing stuff they should not be doing.

Babes might hire you for afternoon shifts and they will stop the guys from even touching your hand, so it might be a good place to start and just get the feel of dancing.

^^That's a good idea, have you thought about starting on day shift?? It'll be slow as fuck, but you'll learn.

The funny thing about stripclubs is they may sometimes have a couple girls bigger than you and still not hire you, because 1) they don't want to get a reputation for being "that club" and 2) the ones already working there were probably smaller at first, and the clubs let them stay because they make money. A newbie isn't as likely to make money because she doesn't know what she's doing, but a heavier newbie will generally have an even harder time at first.

Sounds like Vegas is probably your best bet for now. You'll want to really work hard on getting yourself in shape for this winter - we've got superbowl this year and that'll be the best thing to happen to us all year. You'll want to be in one of the better clubs for that!

^^I don't think Vegas is a good idea for a newb. Way too overwhelming. Get some experience, even if it's day shift or a shitty club, before you venture out to Vegas.

Yea, dayshift would definitely work. In fact I'm more likely to be hired on for dayshift anyways. I also usually work nights at the otha job so no biggie.

That makes sense about the weight issue. I'm not that worried though. 10lbs is nothing. I'll be set by the time things start to pick up, cuz that's def plenty of time. I'll def be in a better club by then too.

Oh no! No. I'm not going to LV, there's an SC here in Phoenix called Vegas Show Club. =)

LatinaRose. Surely, after all you've seen me say about how NOT worth it Las Vegas is, you don't really think I'd advise some newbie who couldn't get hired at a small club in Phoenix to go try Las Vegas to prepare herself for better clubs here.....LOL!

No offense meant to our newbie at all, but damn, that's just funny. "If Bombshells wouldn't hire you, then hey! Go to the most competitive stripclub environment in the WORLD - that'll work better!" LOL I'm not that mean

Here's a couple of suggestions. From what I have seen LeGirls West will hire girls of any size (well within reason), it's a very nice club, low contact, not the busiest place though. Babylon just opened, they may need girls new or experienced (it's nude).

^Not bad ideas, and yes, for sure try out the day shift. Like the girls said, it will be slower, but you'll get your feet wet and it'll help you drop those lbs in no time!

I am so sorry Bombshells turned you away! What Bridgette said makes sense though....when you feel up to it, please try and come back. I love it there, for the location and the management.

And B, Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally forgot about that! I am so excited!

Yea, I'm def gonna go back to Bombshells I believe because the people there were really awesome to me and it seemed like a great place to be. In the meantime, Vegas Showclub hired me and they said to just go in whenever I feel like it. Should be an interesting place to say the least. =P

CCP was steady Friday night. There was a lull from 9:30-11:30, but I danced just about every song from 12-2:15

A bunch of broke losers Sat night. Seriously, I got done with my Champagne hour, came down on the floor and NOTHING!! Usually, when the crowd hasn't seen you (i.e. "Where have YOU been all night?") or if they see you dancing in VIP for a long time ("Are you available now?") it's easy to sell dances!

It was still technically a holiday weekend. The people with money are on vacation. I've said it before, July is consistently my worst month in Phx...and I have 5 years worth of data to back that up. Personally, I'm going on vacation for two weeks too. August is better once the local kids go back to school and "Daddy" stops off at the strip club on the way home from work.

Hey, haven't seen you on here in a while! Nice to see ya! ^^

Yep, this weekend was rough for me too, I finally go in on a weekend (they asked me very nicely) and it was bad. Fri, busy crowd, but nothing happening! Sat, it was just empty!

Blah. I'm with brit on the July thing, this month kills me every time. Mid to end Aug, things start to feel better, by Sept I'm steady again.

Vegas doesn't have much money from what I've noticed so far. I've only worked 2 days though. First day I worked was Friday. 4:30 to 8:30. (Weird shift, but I had plans.) It was dead, the people were there to drink, and I only sold 1 dance. House fee is $20 and minimum for the DJ is $10. I only made $22 the entire time so I could only tip out $5 each leaving my with $12... That was just depressing. =( Sunday was my second day and it worked out a lot better. I went from around 9-10pm to 2am close. The beginning was slow as hell. Same story, people there to drink. It was just me and 1 other girl working. Worked to my advantage though. Towards the end of the night we got a few more people and they spent a lil $$. The advantage was, they mostly spent on me. I sold 4 dances, she only sold 1. I got tipped pretty decent to. So after tipping out the full amounts this time I walked with $80. All I can hope is that I can maintain that kind of amount. It's way small, but it's more than my retail job if it keeps up. =/ Who knows!!

Phoenix like most competitve markets has got more dancers than it needs. The white mindset of club owners is that white customers prefer skinny white girls, and ethnic guys like girls who are thicker.

If you worked in a city where girls weren't a dime a dozen, being 10-15 puunds overweight, or having a little belly wouldn't be a big deal.

Maybe try a few more "urban" clubs where being white, with a "little" more meat on your bones could give you a competitive edge. Try Pantera, Sinn may be ok, and a few Westside clubs. Don't be afraid to try a club. that is how you gain experience. You can get experience in ANY club as long as you are working the floor nonstop and always perfecting your sales pitch.
