Default 4th of July a dead night?

Have you worked the 4th before? Do you find it a family holiday (dead) or do you get party crowds after the fireworks? I got invited to a BBQ, but.....I'd honestly rather make some $$. Oh, and if it helps, the giant "Red White, & Boom" fireworks display/parade/festival (downtown) is tonight, not tomorrow on the actual holiday.

Eh. I'm lethargic-ly torn (re: I could care less about either).

Opinions? Ever bank on the 4th?

Never worked the 4th of July and I don't plan too. I am working tonight since most people will have the day off tomorrow, I think it will be a good night. As for tomorrow night not sure!

If you do work it tell me how it goes please!

I've never worked it. I've always asked afterwards and people said the club was dead. However, it's quite possible to find that one well-paying customer since there won't be many girls.

I'm working both the night before and night of. Night before should be decent because a lot of pple don't have to work on the 4th. Night of? My guess is that some people will come in after the fireworks are over.

July 4th is a very family-oriented holiday, and a lot of people's time priority is their family, and their financial priority is a barbeque, alcohol, etc etc. It does make a difference on what we get in the club. Kind of how January is fucked because people are paying off their christmas credit card bills.

My manager told me he looked at his "numbers" for the last eight years to see what the week of July 4th looked like, and he said it was always slow, especially for the above reasons and told us that no, the money wouldn't be great, but to try to stick it out. (He's very dancer-oriented)

I'm hoping for the out-of-towners that aren't tethered to their families tomorrow. Lets all hope for that one rich guy that makes our night when all the other girls are crying in the dressing room.

The fourth is slow. I remember making about 1/2 on the fourth of what I made on a regular night.

I worked on the 4th two years ago and made $261. I remember it being slow, but I don't think there were many girls either and I got free tip out. I'd much rather see the fireworks this year though.

Don't work, GO OUT!!! I had a great time at Pure last 4th of July, even though I got rear ended earlier in the evening. They had a party with Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell and Paris Hilton. I'm still bummed I didn't get a picture with Mr. Belding.

Every 4th of July I worked on Broadway in SF sucked (I've worked 3). There's a list of holidays I refuse to work because the $$$'s been BS, and the 4th of July is one of them.

I'm not going in tonight. I'll wait till tomorrow to go in when all the other dancers are hung over and won't be coming in tomorrow. All the cheap locals will stay home tomorrow, too, hopefully...and I will reap the benefits from the people that come into the club who really want to spend money.

I worked and did decently, not great but nothing to bitch about. The weather was nasty around here, so that probably contributed to the crowd.

I worked yesterday and it fucking sucked- but partially could be due to the horrible downpours that kept occurring off and on all afternoon.

Last night was not bad! Even though it was slow, I was determined to have fun because I had nothing else to do for the 4th, so I was hellbent on making the most of it. Consequently, I actually had a few (*gasp*) interesting conversations (when does that ever happen anymore?). And for a slow night, I made pretty good money too.

Going into work with a good attitude is totally not overrated, by the way. I'm guilty of grumpily stomping into the club waaaay too often, but cultivating a good mood makes all the difference, as evidenced by last night.

Last night was not bad for our club, either. Not as many dancers, probably because they were out partying or scared off by the holiday. And it has been slower recently--it is the 'slow season' here after all, lol...

But the tip rail was lined all night, the energy level was high, and the dancers seemed to make fairly good money. I did as well as I did sunday or monday, with several more dancers each night, so they had to have done well.

I was in a foul mood at the beginning of the night, too, lol--it was my fifth night in a row. By the end of the night I had snapped out of it and was in a great mood, which is hard to pull off, haha!

I used to work all these family holidays years ago, but not anymore. They are never good. They either suck, or are just ok. $300 is just ok so I wouldn't get all twisted about missing out on that. I'd rather have fun, save my energy and work a better day.

The only holiday I've ever really done well on was Halloween. I used to make no less than $500 on Halloween night in New Orleans because there were few girls but we still had a decent crowd. It was always a table dance your ass off kinda night, but I never minded that!
