Default Buspar side effects, will they end?

My doctor put me on Buspar Monday. I'm supposed to take it 2x a day, however after the first day when I felt like I was tripping on acid I called my doctor and she said I could just take it at night. I'm still getting side effects in the morning when I take it before bed - nasusa, shakiness, etc... I don't want to give up on the medicine after 3 days, however I don't know how much longer I can handle the side effects. If anyone has ever been on it I would love to know how long the side effects lasted for you, and when the medicine actually started working.

I went on Buspar and tried it out for about 2 months. I absolutely hated everyday and could not cope with the tired almost falling asleep feeling, the nausea and shakiness. It is crazy but the side effects are worse than actually getting panic and anxiety! I finally talked with my doctor and wound up going on an anti-depressant (Celexa) and could not be happier (literally!!!) However, the first week or two of going on an anti-depressant can be quite harsh but once your brain and body get used to it, it is great.

Sometimes panic and anxiety are stemmed from untreated depression (either by chemical imbalances in brain or from situations in life that weren't taken care of.) Talk with your doctor and if your body is rejecting Buspar after about 2 weeks it is usually a sign that you are on the wrong mental meds.

    Hope this helped

Hate to add to the bad news about Buspar, but I had a similiar negative reactions to it. (For those keeping track, I've been on a very low dose of Cymbalta and haven't noticed any bad side effects--except for getting tired in the evenings and a little less balance (in yoga) than when I wasn't taking it.)

I didn't like taking Buspar, and I've tried it 3 years apart from each other. It just made me bitchy and tired, but it didn't get rid of the anxiety or insomnia I was taking it for.

I've seen people do very well on it, but I hated it. I hope it gets better for you.

Well I don't think my doctor had much faith in it sinse she told me to give it one week and if it didn't work call her and she would put me on something else. I just don't want to be switching medications all the time. I've been doing a lot of reading and I think I'm going to give it 2 weeks before I switch.

I have a random question and I'm wondering if anyone else goes through this. I tend to get most of my anxiety attacks when I'm out in public, especially in a one on one situation ex, taking my daughter to get her hair cut, going to the bank, at my sister in laws.... However I rarely ever get them at work. I just don't understand this. I can't handle a transaction at the bank, however I have no problem socializing with custys at work and getting on stage with several men watching me. Like I said I am wondering if anyone else is this way

If it helps any, I've probably had less than 5 panic attacks at work, but I've had dozens at Target and the mall. I have no idea why I can be naked in front of a bunch of people and be ok, but I can't buy some fucking socks without having a meltdown.

I can normally feel them coming when I am out though, so I can find the nearest bathroom in time if making it all the way to my car isn't an option. For some reason every panic attack I have ends in me puking, so I always have an escape plan when I'm out. Just knowing I can escape in time helps me.
